Good morning lovely clients. Recently, we have had several clients who have been disgruntled about not seeing Rachael when they come in. Whilst we appreciate how important continuity is for you and your pets, please also understand that Rachael does occasionally need a day off to be with her animals (like Eeyore below) and family!
We try to keep any disruption to a minimum and only have vets who we trust completely with our clients to cover for Rachael.
Please be understanding of Rachael's need for the odd infrequent day off. If she doesn't get enough downtime, then there is a much higher chance of her needing a lot more time off than the odd day.

A little reminder about MHP 6-monthly health checks and vaccination appointments 🐾
Over the last few weeks, we’ve had a lovely increase in clients using our online booking system. We completely understand how convenient it is to book appointments online, especially when our phone lines can be busy!
We just wanted to clarify one thing, as we’ve noticed a few appointments being booked slightly incorrectly.
💙 MHP 6-monthly health checks are routine nose-to-tail health checks, usually carried out by one of our lovely Veterinary Nurses. These appointments are included as part of your Medivet Healthcare Plan (MHP).
Booster vaccinations must be carried out by a Veterinary Surgeon. Please check your reminder carefully to see if it is just a healthcheck, or healthcheck and vaccination as our nurses are unable to administer vaccinations.
If your pet is poorly, showing new symptoms, or you have concerns about their health, they will need to see a Veterinary Surgeon (vet) rather than booking an MHP health check. Our Veterinary Nurses are unable to diagnose conditions or prescribe medication.
If you book an MHP health check with a nurse but your pet is unwell, we will always do our best to help. However, a vet may not be immediately available, and you may need to wait until a vet is free or arrange another appointment for your pet.
If a vet is available to see your pet during the nurse appointment, this will be treated as a standard veterinary consultation and a consultation fee will apply.

Don’t worry! If your pet is unwell or you’re unsure what type of appointment they need, please give us a call and our team will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Loveable Lenny here looks like an angel, however last month, he gave us all a huge scare...
Lenny was vomiting constantly and started bloating. An ultrasound scan followed by an X-ray confirmed our suspicions and he was taken into theatre for emergency surgery. Not only had he swallowed three stones, but had been harbouring SIX coffee pods in his stomach for what looked like a while! One of the stones was blocking his small intestine and could have been fatal if his Mum hadn't brought him in when she did.
Thankfully Lenny is all better now and the coffee machine has been rehomed!

Rhodri and Rusty visited us today for their puppy vaccinations and to join our Medivet Healthcare Plan. It was an emotional visit for us as their parents hadn’t been in since we sadly said goodbye to their beloved Megan a couple of months ago. We were delighted to welcome them back with these two gorgeous boys. We look forward to looking after them through their lifetimes.
