🌞 HEAT ALERT: A vital reminder from us!🌞
The heat is on, and while we all want to get our pets out and active, we must prioritise their safety above all else.
Remember this: A dog has never died from not walking. But they can, and will, die if walked in this heat.
Heatstroke is a serious emergency for cats, dogs, and small animals. It happens fast and can be fatal.
Know the signs to protect your furry family members:
🐕 For Dogs:
Excessive, frantic panting
Deep red, purple, or blue gums/tongue
Lethargy, weakness, or collapsing
Vomiting and diarrhoea
🐈 For Cats:
Rapid breathing and panting (rare but critical)
Drooling
Stumbling or lack of coordinations
🐹 For Small Animals (Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, etc.):
Lying down, unable or unwilling to move
Short, fast breaths
Wetness around the nose
Protect them this summer:
✅ Keep them in cool, ventilated areas.
✅ Walk dogs only in the early morning or late evening. Check the pavement; if it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.
✅ Provide plenty of fresh, cold water.
✅ Never, ever leave any pet in a parked car.
If you suspect your pet is suffering from heatstroke, contact us immediately. Stay safe, stay cool! 🐾
