🐾 Meet Riker! 🐶❤️

This handsome Bernese Mountain Dog came in for his general health check as he joined our Family Health Plan — and we’re delighted to have him as part of the family! 🥰

Riker also picked up his flea and worming treatments to help keep him happy, healthy and protected.

And, of course, he had an important job to do… looking incredibly handsome! 😍🐾

We think he absolutely nailed it. 💙

This adorable little pup recently came in for his first vaccinations and was an absolute star! 🌟🐶

Milo was very brave and enjoyed plenty of cuddles along the way. 🥰 We can’t wait to see him again as he grows into a happy, healthy boy! 🐾

🌞 Hot Weather Warning for Pets 🌞

⚠️ Pets most at risk include:
• Flat-faced (brachycephalic) breeds such as Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs, Persian cats and similar breeds.
• Puppies, kittens and elderly pets.
• Overweight pets.
• Pets with heart disease, breathing problems or other underlying medical conditions.
• Thick-coated breeds.
• Rabbits, guinea pigs and other small furries, who are especially sensitive to high temperatures and must always have access to shade, fresh water and good ventilation.

💧 Help keep your pets safe by:
✅ Providing plenty of fresh, cool water.
✅ Keeping them indoors or in shaded, well-ventilated areas during the hottest part of the day.
✅ Walking dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when it's cooler.
✅ Avoiding hot pavements, which can burn paws.
✅ Using cooling mats, damp towels or fans where appropriate (never ice-cold water, as this can be harmful if a pet is overheating).

🚗 NEVER leave your pet in a parked car – even for a few minutes.
The temperature inside a vehicle can rise to dangerous levels incredibly quickly, even with the windows open or if the car is parked in the shade. Heatstroke can develop within minutes and can be fatal. If you see a pet in distress inside a hot car, seek help immediately.

📅 Routine appointments
If your pet has a routine, non-urgent appointment during the hottest part of the day, please give us a call to rearrange for a cooler time where possible. This can help reduce unnecessary travel and keep your pet safe and comfortable.

🚨 Know the signs of heatstroke:
• Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
• Drooling
• Lethargy or weakness
• Bright red gums or tongue
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Collapse, confusion or seizures

If you suspect your pet is suffering from heatstroke, move them to a cool area, begin cooling them with cool (not ice-cold) water, and contact us immediately.

Tiny paws, big milestone! 🐾💉

Everyone say hello to Goose, who came in recently for his very first vaccinations! This brave little kitten was full of curiosity, soaked up all the cuddles, and took everything like a champ.

First vaccines are an important step in keeping kittens healthy and protected as they grow. We'd say Goose earned plenty of treats and a well-deserved nap after his adventure! 🐱✨

🐾💙 These gorgeous German Shepherd puppies visited us recently for their first vaccinations and general health checks before heading off to their forever homes! 🩺✨

Each puppy was given a full nose-to-tail examination and their first vaccination to help give them the best start in life. They were all absolute stars and received plenty of cuddles from the team! 🐶❤️

We'd like to wish each of these beautiful pups the very best of luck as they begin their exciting new adventures with their new families. We know they'll bring lots of love, fun, and loyal companionship for years to come. 🏡🐾

Good luck, little ones—we can't wait to see you again for your next visit! 💙
