Fungi 🍄‍🟫🍄

Sometimes he's not such a fun guy

If your pet should ingest a mushroom and you should contact your vet ASAP

Ideally with a sample of the fungi if you have one, intact from the root - your vet may need to contact the Veterinary Poisons Information Service (who make a charge) to assist in the identification and determine the toxicity of the fungus

Sometimes the nurses have to get creative! 🦔

This hedgehog was brought into Ellis Vets with a possible dog bite - they couldn't find any blood or obvious injuries during a routine check, as he had a nice tight curl.

However, when in the kennel he would walk around quite happily. Jess, the vet, was saying we needed glass bottom kennels so we could check the underside of hedgehogs! Otterlie, Student Vet Nurse, came up with the idea of using a plastic drawer to view him in! Genius! 🤩

In he popped and like magic he uncurled, and Jess could have a look at his legs and stomach. Thankfully, he had no injuries, so after a rest and hearty meal, he was released back into the wild

Meet Rudi ❤️💖

Lovely Rudi attended a nurse wellness screen clinic and his blood results indicated he may be anaemic

After further examination and investigation with Pippa the vet, Rudi was found to have a growth on his spleen and required surgery for a splenectomy

Rudi was very lucky to have this picked up early at a check up his owner had decided to book in, a healthcheck360 appointment can be made with the nurse and tailored to your pets needs

We wish Rudi well as he continues to recover ❤️‍🩹
