We are looking for Volunteers in the Grimsargh and Longridge area who are either available on a Tuesday or Sunday evening or Both! No experience is needed!

Another very hot day today, so please make sure we’re keeping our animals safe in the heat ☀️🐾

It’s important to pay attention to how hot it feels, not just the actual temperature. Humidity can have a huge impact on how both we and our animals cope in warm weather.

Feels like a very long time since we’ve had to speak about the heat but it’s lovely to have it back. It’s always important to remember that the heat affects our fury friends differently so always make sure they are staying safe in the heat!

🐾 Mind Their Paws: Hot Pavements Can Burn! ☀️

Warm days can mean dangerously hot pavements for dogs. At just 25°C, asphalt can heat up to 52°C+ hot enough to cause serious burns in under a minute! 😰

Top tips to keep your dog safe:
✅ Walk early morning or later in the evening
✅ Stick to shaded routes and grassy areas
✅ Do the 7-second test – place the back of your hand on the pavement. If it’s too hot to hold, it’s too hot for paws
✅ Always carry water and take breaks in the shade

We had the best time during our ‘Kids and Their Dog’ workshop we held over the weekend. During this session, we discussed how to stay safe around dogs, how they communicate with us through their body language, and learned how to teach our dogs lots of fun skills!

Can’t wait for our next back-to-school special workshop in September 🎓
