We’re so proud of our Sunday puppies and beginners and the brilliant work they’re putting into learning their ‘Leave’ cue!

Teaching a reliable ‘Leave’ is such a valuable skill. It helps keep our dogs safe around things they might find in the house and when out exploring the big wide world on walks.

We always encourage our owners to keep building on this skill, gradually increasing the difficulty and challenging their dogs as they progress. And wow, did some of our dogs rise to the challenge this week! 🤩 Some were even able to ignore cheese and pate — now that’s impressive!

We also had lots of our lovely group using clickers, and it’s fantastic to see their dogs becoming more responsive to this clear marker for the behaviour we want to reward. It’s all about building understanding, confidence and a stronger bond between dog and handler.

Fantastic work, everyone! Keep practising, keep challenging those clever pups, and most importantly, keep having fun together!

Bonfire Night should be fun for us — but for many dogs, fireworks can be frightening. 🎆🐶

A little preparation can make a BIG difference:
🏠 Create a safe space
🎵 Mask loud bangs
🦴 Offer enrichment
❤️ Stay calm and reassuring
🚪 Secure doors, windows & gates
🐾 Make sure their ID/microchip details are up to date

Keep an ear our for Classic FM who offer specific music that has been scientifically proven to calm down animals.

For any training advice before please don't hesitate to reach out to us and if your dog is severely frightened by fireworks, speak to your vet before Bonfire Night about the best options for them.

Handsome teenager Ozzy is full of energy and doesn't quite know what to do with it all! He’s also a handful on walks, being vocal, pulling and getting himself worked up. We’ll be working with him and his family to help with all of the above. He's a big softie and we love visiting him!

Ready to take your training to the next level?

Our next 5-week Training Club course is starting at Grimsargh Village Hall on Tuesday 10th November, running from 6:45pm–7:45pm.

Training Club is perfect for dogs and owners who have already completed some training with us or attended another dog training school and are ready to build on those skills! 🐾

We’ll continue developing your training, building confidence and strengthening that all-important bond between you and your dog. 💚

✨ Spaces are available, so don’t miss out on our last Training Club group of 2026!
