🐹🦷Our little hamster came in for a dental check and needed his upper front teeth trimmed!
Hamsters’ front teeth grow continuously throughout their lives, so dental care is an important part of keeping them healthy and comfortable.

Tips for healthy hamster teeth:
• Provide safe things to chew: untreated wooden toys, apple or pear tree branches, cardboard tubes and boxes.
• Offer a balanced, species-appropriate diet.
• Check their teeth regularly for overgrowth or unevenness.
• Watch for warning signs such as difficulty eating, drooling or weight loss.
• Never trim teeth at home — if they become overgrown, a vet should check them and trim them safely.

Dental trimming is usually a quick procedure and, depending on the hamster and the situation, may not require sedation. 🐹

🌾 Grass seeds may look harmless, but they can cause serious problems for our pets.

During the warmer months, grass seeds can become trapped in your pet’s paws, ears, eyes, nose or coat. Because of their sharp, barbed shape, they can travel under the skin and cause pain, infection and, in some cases, require surgery to remove.

🐾 Check your pet after every walk.
🌿 Avoid long, dry grass where possible.
✂️ Keep the fur around paws, ears and eyes neatly trimmed.

If you notice excessive licking, head shaking, limping, squinting or swelling, contact your vet as soon as possible.

💚 A quick check after every walk can make a big difference.

💙 Sometimes one fight can change everything…

This unvaccinated, unneutered male cat loved exploring outdoors and frequently got into fights with other local tomcats. Unfortunately, his latest battle left him with a devastating eye injury. Another cat slashed his eye, causing it to rupture and the iris to prolapse. Sadly, the damage was beyond repair, and the only humane option was to remove the injured eye to relieve his pain and give him the best chance at a comfortable life.

While he was under anaesthetic, we also neutered him. Neutering helps reduce roaming and territorial fighting, lowering the risk of future injuries and helping protect his remaining eye.

The good news is that he tested negative for both FIV and FeLV. These viruses are most commonly spread through bite wounds sustained during cat fights, making unneutered outdoor male cats particularly at risk.

We wish this brave boy a smooth recovery and a much safer, happier future. 🐾❤️

🎉 Happy 1st Birthday, Lucky! 🐶💜
Today, Lucky celebrated her first birthday in a very unexpected way... by eating half of a rubber tennis ball! 🎾
Owner brought her to our clinic straight away. After receiving medication to make her vomit, Lucky brought the tennis ball back up within 10 minutes. Luckily, no surgery was needed.
The best part? After the procedure, Lucky was back to her happy, playful self and shared lots of love with everyone at the clinic. ❤️

🐾 A reminder for all pet owners: If your dog eats a foreign object, don't wait. Bring them to a veterinary clinic as soon as possible. Acting quickly can often help us remove the object by making your pet vomit. If too much time passes, this may no longer be possible, and surgery or other treatments may be needed.

We're so happy everything ended well. Happy Birthday again, Lucky! 🥳

The kittens came in for a check-up and decided they now run the clinic

Five tiny tuxedo explorers, one exam room, and absolutely no respect for paperwork, sinks, or personal space. This is what a normal day in kitten chaos looks like. Can you count them all, and which collar looks like the biggest troublemaker?

Spring has officially sprung, and the Isle of Dogs is blooming! 🌸✨

There’s nothing quite like seeing our beautiful East London neighborhood come alive with cherry blossoms. The brighter days and warmer weather mean longer, happier walks for our furry friends—and we love seeing them out and about enjoying the sunshine.

While the flowers are gorgeous, remember that some spring plants and bulbs can be toxic to pets. Always keep a close eye on what your curious companions are sniffing out during their walks! 🌷🐶

Have you snapped any lovely photos of your pets enjoying the spring blooms around Poplar or the Isle of Dogs?
