Taking things at Bagel’s pace. 🐾

At Highgate Vets, we believe trust is built in the quiet moments. Small patients like Bagel can often feel a little nervous coming into the clinic, which is why we never rush.
With our unhurried 30-minute consultations, we take the time to let our patients settle, explore, and feel safe before we begin.

For toy breeds like Chihuahuas, gentle handling and early preventative care—especially when it comes to keeping small teeth and gums healthy—make all the difference to a lifetime of happy check-ups.

Swipe through to see Bagel taking his visit entirely in his stride! 🩵

We are thrilled to announce that Highgate Veterinary Clinic has been awarded Gold Cat Friendly Clinic status by International Cat Care

Achieving the highest possible accreditation means our team has gone above and beyond to tailor our facilities, equipment and handling techniques specifically for cats -reducing stress and making every visit as calm and comfortable as possible.

Swipe through to see what Gold status looks like behind the scenes! ✨

Cat stress starts in the waiting room. Cats feel safest when elevated, so our dedicated feline waiting area features raised cubbies to keep carriers off the floor and out of sight from curious dogs. *Extra height from even our tallest pups!

Our dedicated cat exam room features non-slip, cozy covers to make sure paws feel secure and warm during every consult. Small details make a huge difference in keeping visits low-stress.

Our quiet inpatient ward is strictly cats only- free from dog barks, strong scents and loud noises- allowing our patients to rest in comfort.

For sneaky escape artists like this one, our ward features double-door entry systems so every patient stays safe, sound and right where they need to be.

Jennie and Matt are immensely proud that the clinic achieved Gold status with International Cat Care 🩵 Gentle handling and species-specific care are at the heart of everything we do.

Thank you to our amazing clients for trusting us with your furry family members, and a huge congratulations to our dedicated team!

Mornings at the clinic right now 🩵

17/07/2026

While our clinic team does daily weigh-ins behind the scenes to make sure these tiny tots are thriving, we’ll be checking in here every Friday to share their weekly progress with you!

📈 What are we looking for?
Healthy growth in neonates is all about steady upward trends. Here is what we expect for a gold-star checkup:

The Daily Goal: Constant daily gains (even a small loss or plateau can be a warning sign!).

The Weekly Milestone: We generally look for them to gaining about *70-100g* of their body weight per week.

Every gram counts when you're this small! 💪

👀 Coming up next week...
Keep your eyes peeled, because they might be opening theirs! We are officially on neonate eye-watch for next Friday’s update. 🩵
