Introducing the Whisker & Coat Welfare Fund 🤍

Inspired by the work of independent cat rescues, this initiative is designed to support cats preparing for rehoming, adoption, or those in need of gentle welfare grooming.

Many rescue cats arrive with matted coats, discomfort, or stress. Calm, patient grooming can help restore comfort, improve presentation, and support their journey toward a new home.

My aim is to offer one discounted welfare groom each week, where possible — prioritising rescue cats and rehoming cases that would benefit from gentle restoration.

For those who have asked how they can support these cases, I’ve created a Welfare Fund. Contributions help cover time, travel, and specialist care, allowing more cats to receive professional grooming when it’s needed most.

Three British Shorthairs. Three personalities. One very fluffy afternoon. 🐾

These beautiful BSH coats may look low maintenance… but their dense, plush fur holds a huge amount of loose undercoat. Without regular professional grooming, this can quickly compact, shed excessively, and become uncomfortable for the cat.

Today’s grooms included:
• Thorough de-shed of the dense undercoat
• Gentle comb through to maintain airflow in the coat
• Removal of loose compacting fur
• Nail clip
• Coat smoothing & finish
• Calm, welfare-led handling throughout

The result — lighter coats, less shedding at home, and three very plush British Shorthairs looking their best.

Perfect examples of why short-haired cats still benefit from professional grooming.
