✨ RIO UPDATE - FROM SURVIVING…TO FINALLY STARTING TO LIVE 🤍🐾

Honestly, looking at Rio now compared to when he was first rescued feels emotional beyond words.

This little boy still has a long journey ahead of him, but the difference already is incredible. 🥺

Rio is now so much brighter, more vibrant and full of life. As you can see from the videos, he absolutely ADORES his rescuer and runs after her everywhere for attention, cuddles and food. 🤍

After everything he endured, seeing him trust and love humans this deeply is something truly special.

🏥 RECOVERY UPDATE

Rio has now undergone his third surgery to remove more damaged back teeth. Thankfully, his stitches have already been removed and his eye has healed beautifully.

If everything continues going well and no further complications appear, we are hoping he may finally be discharged from the vet within the next few days. 🙏

He still needs time, patience and recovery support:
• He needs to gain more weight
• His body still needs rebuilding after severe malnourishment
• He still has some patchy fur from the condition he was found in

But slowly…he is getting there. 🤍

His fur will grow back.
His body will recover.
And most importantly - he is finally safe.

🍲 FOOD & RECOVERY

Rio is now eating biscuits/dry food and managing much more solid food than before, which is a huge step for him.

Because of everything his little body has been through, we are making sure every change happens gradually and carefully so his system responds well and continues healing safely.

And honestly? This boy LOVES his food. 😭❤️

Once fully recovered, we would absolutely love to find Rio the loving forever home he deserves.

🌙 DOES ANYONE REMEMBER LUNA? OUR PALM TREE PRINCESS IS STILL WAITING…🌙

Luna was rescued in June 2025 after being found crying alone in the desert…clinging to the TOP of a palm tree like a tiny furry Rapunzel. 🌴😭

A kind petrol station worker heard her cries through the night and kept leaving food and milk for her while trying to get help.

🚗 Trip one…no Luna.
🚗 Trip two…still no Luna.
🚗 Trip three…SUCCESS.

Tiny. Terrified. Stuck in a palm tree in the middle of nowhere.

And ever since that day…she has been waiting. 💔

Month after month has passed.
She has watched other rescues leave for their forever homes while she quietly remains behind.

We’ve had interest in Luna over time, but sadly nothing has worked out for her yet — and she is still patiently waiting for the right person to truly commit to her.

And honestly? We cannot understand why.

Because Luna has grown into such a lovely young cat. 💛

🐾🧡 MEET SHAMS — THE LITTLE BOY WHO REFUSED TO GIVE UP 🧡🐾

Honestly…where do we even begin with this little soul? 🥹

Shams has already fought harder in his tiny life than most animals should ever have to.

After suffering severe abdominal trauma caused by humans as a baby kitten, Shams was left incontinent, weak and in critical condition. There were moments where we truly did not know if he would survive.

But somehow…this tiny boy just kept fighting.

And now?

Look at him. 😭💛

Playful. Happy. Full of life. Obsessed with attention, food and being involved in absolutely everything going on around him. And honestly…slightly obsessed with causing drama and worrying everyone around him too. 😭😂

💛 HIS RECOVERY

One of the most incredible things about Shams’ journey is just how well he responded to treatment.

Thanks to intensive veterinary care, medication, monitoring and so much support, Shams is now back to being a completely normal kitten.

He is now:

🐾 Using the litter tray properly
🐾 Passing urine normally
🐾 Passing stool normally
🐾 Running, playing and climbing like any healthy kitten should

Considering where he started, this honestly feels nothing short of amazing to us.

💛 A LITTLE NOTE ABOUT SHAMS

We also want to be transparent about one small thing regarding his recovery.

Very occasionally, usually once or twice a day, Shams may have a tiny stool accident outside the litter tray. This is something the vet explained can still happen while his nerves continue recovering and adjusting after the trauma he experienced.

Sometimes he simply relaxes without noticing, and other times he gets too excited while using the litter tray and rushes off to play before fully finishing. 😭

The vet is very hopeful this will continue improving with time, especially considering just how much progress he has already made overall.

Honestly, watching him learn normal kitten behaviours every single day has been incredible. He learns from the other cats constantly — even drinking water properly, climbing and jumping are all things he has gradually started doing more confidently recently.

A few days ago he barely climbed at all… now suddenly he’s jumping onto higher places like he’s always done it. 🥹

✨ RIO UPDATE - THIS LITTLE BOY JUST WANTS LOVE, FOOD…AND MORE FOOD 🥹❤️

We always say this: there is always hope - if someone is willing to try. 🤍

Never turn away from a living being that needs help. If you see an animal suffering, step in. There is always a way to seek support, and there are always people willing to help.

Rio is living proof of that! 🐾

And honestly, watching Rio now compared to the day he was found feels almost unreal.

This little boy who arrived broken, weak, in terrible pain and barely holding on…is now becoming brighter, stronger and more full of life every single day. 🐾

He is still currently at the vet, but overall Rio’s condition is SO much better than before.

🏥 A SMALL SETBACK

Unfortunately, Rio did develop a small infection around his eye area during recovery, which meant the eye had to be re-stitched.

This delayed his discharge a little, as we originally hoped he would already be home by now.

But thankfully…the eye is finally healing much better now and things are moving in the right direction again. 🤍

We are now just waiting for the eye area to heal fully so we can:
• Vaccinate him
• Finally discharge him
• Bring him home 🥹

🍲 FOOD, FOOD…AND MORE FOOD

One thing about Rio?

This boy LOVES his food. 😭❤️

Because of his condition and surgeries, he initially had to stay on very watery/specialised food to help maintain hydration and make eating easier for him.

Now slowly but surely, he is starting to enjoy thicker and more solid food - and honestly, he is LOVING it.

He still gets quite messy while eating due to everything his little mouth has been through, but it is nowhere near as bad as before.

And seeing him enjoy food so much after everything he endured honestly melts our hearts every single day.

🤍 HIS BEAUTIFUL PERSONALITY

What touches us most is just how affectionate Rio is.

The second he sees his rescuer, he gets SO excited.

He rubs all over her…then runs to his food…then runs back for cuddles again…

It’s like he genuinely does not know whether he is more excited for affection or for food. 🥹

Despite all the trauma he has endured, he still absolutely adores humans.

And honestly…you can already tell he is going to make someone the most loving, sweetest companion one day.

🤍🏡 RUDOLPH HAS MADE IT HOME 🏡🤍

On the 20th of May, Rudolph began his journey from Dubai to the UK. ✈️🐾

And yesterday…he finally arrived at his forever home with his beautiful new family. 🥹🤍

Because Rudolph is FELV positive, he had to be discharged from the Animal Reception Centre on the very same day he arrived. After such a long journey, he then made his final trip home by pet taxi…and honestly, he has settled in so beautifully already.

He spent his very first night in his forever home yesterday. 🏡🐾

And the updates have honestly made us emotional…

🤍 Already eating really well
🤍 Already settling in beautifully

After being overlooked for so long…after nobody wanting him…after moving from home to home…this boy finally has the stability, love, and safety he always deserved. 🥹

We honestly cannot thank his adopters enough for opening their hearts and giving a FELV+ boy a chance when so many overlooked him simply because of his diagnosis.

UPDATE ON SHAMS 🐾💛

We wanted to share a little update on our very dramatic little boy…because Shams clearly likes keeping us all worried. 😭❤️

Recently, he developed an upset tummy and stopped eating, which we took extremely seriously considering his history and everything his tiny body has already been through.

Because Shams previously suffered abdominal trauma after being kicked, which caused his incontinence issues, we immediately wanted to make sure there was no internal damage, obstruction, or complications affecting his organs.

Thankfully, after being checked by the vet, there was NO obstruction and NO organ damage. 🙏

We are incredibly relieved to say that Shams has been passing urine and stool properly, which is something we will never stop being grateful for considering where he started.

LOVING LIFE AGAIN ❤️

After giving us another scare, Shams is now back to absolutely loving life again. 🤍

He currently seems obsessed with dry food more than wet food — although, in typical Shams fashion, he keeps changing his mind between the two. 😭😅❤️

He is playful, energetic, happy and very much enjoying finally being a kitten.

Shams has now also received his FIRST vaccinations! 🎉

✨ RIO IS FIGHTING BACK — AND HE IS DOING SO WELL ✨

Honestly…we cannot believe how far this little boy has already come. ❤️

After everything Rio endured, seeing him brighter, stronger and recovering this well has been incredibly emotional for all of us.

🏥 RECOVERY UPDATE

The vet is genuinely very happy with Rio’s progress.

His stitches should be removed soon, and if everything continues going well, Rio may even be ready for discharge within around 10 days. 🥹

He apparently has so much more energy now and is recovering faster than expected.

Watching him slowly become more comfortable, more alert and more affectionate has honestly brought tears to our eyes.

🐾 ABOUT HIS AGE & TEETH

Rio unfortunately had to have many more teeth removed during surgery because the remaining teeth were also in very poor condition.

The vet believes Rio is at least around 3+ years old, however because his teeth were in such bad condition, it is difficult to determine his exact age accurately.

Despite everything, the vet has reassured us that Rio can still live a happy and comfortable life. ❤️

What touches us the most is that despite all the pain, trauma and suffering Rio has been through…he is still such a loving little soul.

He still comes towards people for comfort.
He still loves his food.
He still wants affection and cuddles.

That beautiful personality is shining through more every single day. 🐾

🐾 OLIVER’S STORY

Oliver was born on the streets, where life is harsh, unfair, and often very short for kittens.

When he was found, he was sick, fragile, and already in pain, suffering from degenerative gum disease as a baby.

He has since received treatment, had teeth removed where needed, and has now recovered beautifully from his degenerative gum disease. 🙏

This tiny boy has faced more hardship in a few months than most cats do in a lifetime. 💔

If his rescuer hadn’t stepped in when she did, he likely would not have survived the streets.

🎉 SHAMS HAS BEEN DISCHARGED 🎉

Just look at this little boy…😭🤍
THIS is how happy he is. The video has not been sped up, this is genuinely Shams full of energy, excitement and life after everything he has been through.

After such a long and difficult journey, Shams has finally been discharged from the vet clinic and is back with his rescuer, who will continue monitoring him closely as his tiny body has been through so much.

He required a very long stay at the clinic with around-the-clock care, treatment, monitoring and support. There were moments we truly did not know what the outcome would be… but this little fighter proved everyone just how strong he is.

Now the next chapter begins for him. 💛

For the time being, Shams will remain separated from the other cats until he is able to receive his first vaccination safely. Until then, he will continue recovering, gaining strength, weight and finally starting to enjoy being a kitten.

✨ RIO UPDATE — HE MADE IT THROUGH SURGERY ✨

Our brave boy has now recovered from his eye and dental surgery. He also got neutered as well. ❤️‍🩹

After everything he has endured, seeing him awake, moving around and wanting food almost immediately after waking up from surgery honestly brought tears to our eyes. 🥹

Just look at him go…despite the pain, despite the trauma, he is still fighting. 🐾

🏥 POST-SURGERY UPDATE

Some people may notice what looks like “cloth” or material coming from the surgery area.

This is actually surgical drainage/packing placed by the vet after the eye removal surgery to help prevent deeper infection, allow drainage and support healing properly. This is completely normal for a case this severe and will be monitored closely by the vet. ❤️‍🩹

Rio is also continuing pain relief, medication, supportive care and hydration support.

His appetite has thankfully remained good after surgery, which is such an important sign for his recovery. We will continue purchasing Hydra Care and supportive foods/broths to keep encouraging hydration and nutrition. 🥺

🤍 ABOUT THE VET CAGES / RECOVERY AREA

We also want to address something openly because many people have questioned Rio’s care.

The vet is currently using Japanese-style stainless steel recovery cages, which are commonly used in clinics because they are safer, hygienic and much easier to fully sterilise between treatments and cleaning.

In many videos or photos, people may sometimes not see bedding, towels or blankets inside. This is often because the rescuer arrives during cleaning/sterilisation time, when nurses temporarily remove everything to disinfect the area properly before replacing fresh bedding again.

We are always bringing and providing blankets, towels and bedding for Rio’s comfort. 🙏

💔 TRANSPARENCY

We know many people have been questioning us throughout Rio’s journey.

All we ask is for people to remember this: Rio was critically ill, severely dehydrated, in extreme pain and carrying horrific injuries. Every medical decision has been made carefully by the veterinary team based on what his body could physically cope with at the time.

Nothing about this case has been simple.

But despite everything…he is still here. Still eating. Still walking towards people for comfort. Still fighting to live. ❤️

And we will continue fighting for him too.

✨ RIO UPDATE — LOOK AT THIS SWEET BOY NOW ✨

Yes…Rio was actually coming towards the rescuer for cuddles. 🥹❤️

After everything he has been through, he is still showing us just how loving and gentle he truly is.

He is such a sweet boy. He loves his food. And you can already see his beautiful personality starting to shine through. ❤️🐾

Watching him slowly become brighter, stronger, more affectionate and more comfortable has been incredibly emotional for us.

This video was taken shortly after the nurse gave Rio his medication, including pain relief. His appetite has improved and honestly…just look how grateful and cuddly he is despite everything he has endured. 🥺

And people told us to give up on him.

How could we? 💔

This boy still wants love. He still seeks comfort. He still wants to live.

He’s going to make somebody the most loving companion one day. You can already see it. ❤️

🏥 SURGERY UPDATE

The vet is hoping to perform Rio’s eye surgery today, however they are currently fully booked with surgeries.

If they are unable to fit him in today, his surgery will go ahead tomorrow.

🧺 HOW YOU CAN HELP RIO

Rio still desperately needs support for his ongoing treatment and daily care.

We are also in need of towels and blankets for him, as he still shakes saliva mixed with blood and food due to the severe injuries inside his mouth, which can leave him messy after eating. Poor boy is trying his best. 🥺
