💔🐾 THIS IS ROMEO AT THE VET…AND IT BROKE OUR HEARTS 🐾💔

Romeo is still at the clinic recovering, and Soua’d was seeing him twice a day because she just couldn’t bear the thought of him sitting there alone, frightened and in pain.

When she arrived, he was sitting quietly in the corner by himself.

But the moment he smelled her and heard her voice, he came straight towards her.

He climbed onto her lap. He wanted cuddles. He wanted to be held. He just wanted to feel safe. 😭💔

She stayed with him, stroked him, gave him treats and tried to comfort him as much as she could.

He wasn’t really interested in the food at the clinic either, so Soua’d brought him the wet food and dry food he normally eats at home, together with his blanket, just so he could have something familiar around him.

Something that smelled like home. Something warm. Something that might make him feel a little less scared.

Romeo still needed his injections and ongoing treatment before he could be discharged, and we were just waiting for the vets to be happy enough with his recovery.

And financially, we were still in such a desperate position.

His surgery and hospital care were estimated at around £324 / 1,575 AED, and at that point we had raised only £15.

That is such a tiny fraction of what we needed.

We know everyone is struggling. We know there are so many appeals out there. But Romeo is just one little boy who had no say in any of this.

He didn’t choose to be injured. He didn’t choose surgery. He didn’t choose to sit in a vet cage crying for comfort.

And yet he still trusted us completely.

💔🐾 ROMEO IS OUT OF SURGERY! OUR BRAVE LITTLE BOY NEEDS YOUR HELP! 🐾💔

We finally have an update on our precious Romeo! 🥺❤️

His surgery was postponed from yesterday until TODAY, and we are so relieved to share that our little boy has now come out of surgery and is doing well so far! 🙏🏻❤️‍🩹

This is the very first footage of Romeo shortly after being brought back to his cage at the veterinary clinic.

As you can see, he is still very sleepy, drowsy and disorientated from the anaesthesia. Seeing him like this is heartbreaking, especially knowing how much he has already been through at such a young age. 😢💔

For those unfamiliar with his story, Romeo was rescued as a tiny kitten. Sadly, after falling from a cat tree, he suffered fractures in two places.

While one injury was expected to heal with strict rest, the damage around his hip required surgery. Because he was still growing, we had to wait until his bones were developed enough.

❤️‍🩹 Today, Romeo finally underwent his Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO), an orthopaedic operation to remove the damaged head of his thigh bone, allowing a functional false joint to develop as he heals.

We are hoping this surgery will give him the chance to live a comfortable, happy and playful life again. 🥺❤️

💔 TONIGHT, OUR LITTLE BOY NEEDS HIS REST…

Soua’d was heartbroken having to leave him at the clinic, but he needs time to recover from the anaesthesia.
She will visit him tomorrow morning, bringing familiar items with comforting scents from home to help him feel safe and reassured. ❤️🐾

🐾💔 PLEASE HELP US KEEP GOING - SO MANY CATS ARE STILL DEPENDING ON US 💔🐾

For anyone new to our page, we are a small grassroots rescue helping sick, injured and vulnerable street cats in Dubai, alongside the cats already under our care.

Our Medical GoFundMe has now been increased to £3,753 to include the newest veterinary bills.

So far, £1,799 has been raised, which means we still need £1,954 to cover the medical costs currently sitting in front of us.

And sadly, this is not the end of it.

🩵 Zain needed further treatment after the wound underneath his eye reopened.

💙 Sandy has needed a very long hospital stay because his wound has been so slow to heal.

🖤 Selma needed treatment for her eye infection, spaying after being found pregnant again so soon after giving birth, extra recovery time, and two bad teeth removed.

🐾 Mavi needed his routine check-up, vaccination and FIV/FeLV testing.

💔 Another tiny ginger-and-white kitten who suddenly became extremely thin and dehydrated and needed veterinary attention.
..any many more under our care...

These are only some of the cases we are currently dealing with.

We also still have other rescues under our care who need ongoing support, and Romeo will soon be undergoing his operation, with his own separate GoFundMe because his treatment will be another significant expense.

And on top of all the medical care, there is the cost people often don’t see:

🍽️ FEEDING THE COLONIES

Soua’d feeds multiple street colonies every single night, and a food order can cost around 6,800 AED (1398 GBP).

That kind of amount can be needed again every 2–3 weeks.

We simply cannot keep up with those costs without help.

🐾❤️ STRAY PROJECT UPDATE - ZAIN & SANDY STILL NEED OUR HELP ❤️🐾

There is so much happening behind the scenes at the moment, and Zain and Sandy are two more little lives still under our care.

❤️‍🩹 A QUICK REMINDER OF THEIR STORIES

Zain 🩵 came to us with a deep wound underneath his eye that needed veterinary treatment and stitching. Unfortunately, even after it was sutured, part of the wound reopened, meaning he had to return to the vet for further treatment and monitoring. His current bill is 1,155 AED (approx 234 GBP).

Sandy 💙 has been dealing with a wound that has been very slow to heal, requiring a long stay at the clinic. He is still there today, but thankfully he is improving and we hope he may finally be ready to leave in the next few days. His current hospitalisation bill is 892.50 AED (approx 184 GBP).

💔 That is 2,047.50 AED ( approx 418 GBP) outstanding just for these two cats.

And this is only a small part of what is happening in the background. We are rarely dealing with just one or two cases at a time - there are always several cats needing treatment, follow-ups, medication, hospitalisation or recovery care.

Sometimes we simply don't have enough time to post every single case as it happens, but please know that the work continues every single day.

💔🐾 ROMEO’S SURGERY IS THIS MONDAY...AND WE NEED YOUR HELP 🐾💔

Poor Romeo has already been through so much in his short life, and now he is facing another huge hurdle.

After falling from a cat tree, X-rays confirmed fractures in two places. One of the injuries was expected to heal on its own with strict rest, but the second injury around his hip was much more serious.

Because Romeo was still so young at the time, the vet advised us to wait until his bones had developed enough for surgery.

That time has now come.

Romeo is booked in this Monday for a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO).

This is an orthopaedic surgery where the damaged head of the femur at the hip joint is removed, allowing the area to heal and form a functional “false joint” so that Romeo can hopefully return to a comfortable, pain-free life. 💔🙏🏻

We have now been given an estimated bill of 1,575 AED (324 GBP), which includes the surgery and estimated hospitalisation.

This is only an estimate.

If Romeo needs to stay at the clinic longer, needs extra medication, imaging or any additional treatment, the final amount will go up.

Right now, if we can at least raise enough to cover the surgery itself, we would be so incredibly grateful.

We are already carrying so many vet bills, food costs, medication and ongoing rescue cases. We keep saying we are drowning, but at this point we genuinely don’t know how we are supposed to keep covering everything without help.

And what makes this even more heartbreaking is that Romeo has had absolutely ZERO adoption enquiries.

Not one.

He is so much more than his injuries.

He is funny, cheeky, curious, playful, affectionate and still such a young boy with his whole life ahead of him.

He deserves to recover from this surgery and finally find the loving forever home he has been waiting for.

🧸❤️ THE TEDDY UPDATE YOU’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR…HE’S IN THE UK! 🇦🇪✈️🇬🇧

We’re so sorry this update has taken us a little longer than we would have liked. The last few days have honestly been a whirlwind of work, rescue cases, veterinary checks, paperwork and making sure absolutely everything Teddy needed for his journey was completed in time. As such a tiny rescue team, sometimes there simply aren’t enough hours - or hands! - in the day. 🥹🙏🏻

But we can finally share the news we’ve all been waiting for…

OUR BEAUTIFUL TEDDY HAS MADE IT FROM THE UAE TO LONDON HEATHROW! 🥹🧸❤️✈️

This journey has been incredibly emotional for us because, right until the final stages, we weren’t certain whether Teddy would be well enough to travel. After everything he has already overcome, seeing him finally make that journey feels almost unreal.

He arrived safely at Heathrow early yesterday morning, all of his arrival checks and paperwork have been completed, and he is now going through the required HARC post-arrival holding and clearance process for 48hrs. His wonderful adopter has already been given the collection arrangements and, understandably, cannot wait to finally meet him tomorrow! 🥹🏡❤️

And neither can we.

Very soon Teddy will finally leave this whole chapter behind and begin settling into his forever home. Slowly, gently and completely at his own pace, he will learn that this is where he belongs now. No more uncertainty. No more wondering what comes next. ❤️

❤️‍🩹 QUICK EFE UPDATE - OUR BRAVE BOY IS DOING SO WELL! ❤️‍🩹

We know it’s been a little while since our last proper update on Efe - things have been incredibly busy behind the scenes - but we wanted to let everyone know that he is continuing to do really, really well. 🥹❤️

He is still on pain relief and anti-inflammatory medication while his body continues to heal. For now, he must stay very restricted - no jumping, no sudden movements and plenty of rest while that little pelvis continues recovering.

Soon enough, vet will be able to have his stitches removed. 🙏🏻

And despite everything he has been through…just look at him now. 🥹❤️ He is such a sweet, gentle little boy and continues to amaze us.

We didn't even get the chance to post our very first donation update, and suddenly...OUR ENTIRE FUNDRAISER HAS BEEN COMPLETED!

Honestly, we are overwhelmed. We don't even know how to express the gratitude we're feeling right now.

OUR BEAUTIFUL TEDDY HAS FINALLY BEEN ADOPTED! 🥹❤️🏡

After everything this little boy has survived - horrific facial injuries, losing an eye, extensive surgery and months of recovery - he finally has a wonderful family waiting to welcome him home in the UK!

Unfortunately, Teddy has developed a mild case of ringworm, causing one final setback. His vet has advised us to wait until the end of this week before deciding whether he can safely travel on **8th October**, our first potential flight date.

Our wonderful relocation company has kindly given us extra time to confirm his travel arrangements, but this leaves us with VERY LITTLE TIME to raise the remaining funds.

Rather than waiting, we've decided to start fundraising NOW so that if Teddy receives veterinary clearance, we're ready! If he needs longer to recover, the donations will go towards his later flight. ❤️

🧸❤️ TEDDY UPDATE - HE HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN ADOPTED! ❤️🧸

We have the news we have been waiting so long to share…our beautiful Teddy has officially found his forever home! 🥹😭❤️

After everything this little boy has survived, we are beyond excited to finally be preparing him for his adoption and journey to his new family. Soon there will be no more clinic cage, no more waiting and no more wondering where he belongs. Teddy finally has a permanent, loving home waiting for him. 🏡🐾❤️

We have had one small setback before he can travel. While still at the clinic, Teddy developed a very mild case of ringworm. Thankfully, it was caught quickly, treatment is already underway and the vet is very happy with how well it is responding. ❤️‍🩹

The vet will reassess him around 29th–30th September, when we should have a much clearer idea of his recovery. Together with Teddy’s vet and his wonderful adopter, we will then decide which available travel date is safest and best for him.

His welfare will always come first - we have waited this long for his happy ending, so we certainly won’t rush the final step. 🙏🏻❤️

And his adopter has been absolutely wonderful throughout this whole process: patient, caring and completely understanding of Teddy’s needs. We genuinely could not be happier knowing the home and family waiting for him. 🥹❤️

Teddy is finally going to know freedom, security and what it feels like to truly belong. We cannot wait for the day he meets his forever family. 🧸🏡❤️
