🐾 Handsome Rocky’s Spa Day! 🛁💙

Meet Rocky, a gorgeous 12-year-old German Shepherd x Labrador. 🐶

Rocky only had his very first professional groom a year ago, but he’s taken to it so well. He’s an absolute perfect gentleman from start to finish. ❤️

At 12 years young, he sometimes needs to have a little lie down for a rest during his groom, and that’s absolutely fine. Every dog is groomed at their own pace, with plenty of patience, love and comfort.

After a warm bath, thorough dry, brush out and a paw tidy, Rocky leaves feeling just like a big fluffy teddy bear! 🧸✨

It’s always a pleasure spending time with this lovely boy. Thank you for visiting Muddy Mutts Spa, Rocky – we can’t wait to see you again! 🐾

🐾 Meet Ruby! 🖤

Ruby is around 4 years old and was rehomed from Battersea Dogs Home after being found as a stray. She’s thought to be a Staffie x Patterdale Terrier, and she’s got plenty of terrier spirit! 😂

When Ruby first came for her groom, she had a few strong opinions about the dryers… especially the high-velocity dryer and the stand dryer. In her mind, they definitely needed telling off! 🤣

Fast forward to today, and she’s learnt that they’re not so scary after all. With patience, consistency and lots of encouragement, Ruby now does so much better and is learning to relax throughout her grooms. ❤️

I’m so proud of this clever girl and how far she’s come. She finished her spa day looking beautiful, with lovely clean paws and a shiny coat. 🛁✨

♻️ Don’t throw it away… recycle it! 🐾

Did you know dog hair can be recycled? It can be used for wildlife habitats, compost and other eco-friendly projects instead of going to landfill.

a beautiful Dogue de Bordeaux. At around 60kg, she was an absolute star for her spa day. ❤️

Short-haired dogs shed too… and this is why regular grooming is so important! Just look at all that loose hair! 🤯

She left feeling fresh, comfortable and ready for a well-earned nap. 🛁✨

🐾 Meet the beautiful Viola! 🐾

This gorgeous Dogue de Bordeaux was an absolute superstar for her groom today. ❤️ At around 60kg, I wasn’t 100% sure she’d fit in my bath… but she did, and we managed it together! 😅🛁

One thing that surprises a lot of people is just how much these big, short-haired breeds shed! You might think they don’t need grooming because they have a short coat, but the amount of loose hair that comes out is incredible.

Regular grooming helps to:
🐶 Remove loose hair before it ends up all over your home.
🛁 Keep the coat and skin healthy.
✨ Reduce shedding.
❤️ Give your dog a really good clean and freshen up.

By the end of it, Viola was absolutely whacked and ready for a well-earned snooze after her spa day! 😴 She was such a good girl from start to finish, and it was a pleasure having her in the salon.

💚 More than just a recycling box… ♻️🐾

Along with my Green Groomers Collective recycling box came these fantastic posters, information packs and even some compostable towels to try out.

I’m really looking forward to learning more, testing out some of these eco-friendly products, and sharing the journey with you all.

This is still only the beginning, so keep an eye on my page over the coming weeks to see how we get on and to follow our progress. 🌍🐶
