Alpha's Canine Education Centre is based inside Finsbury Park, 150 metres in a straight line from Manor House Gate. Main Group Sessions run outdoors on Sundays & Thursdays, and we use kind, reward-based general real-life training and advice for all those who wish to have a happy, well-behaved, well-mannered, non-reactive, sociable companion dog, which is a pleasure to own and take out. We also run

Younger Puppy evening socialisation sessions at three Veterinary Practices. We hold fair-weather Agility on Saturdays from April to September. We also run various specialist workshops including ring-craft, scent, play and fun activities. Alpha's Senior Instructors are qualified to advise in Pet (Companion) Dog Training and Behavioural Management, and we provide Instructor training, educational talks, pre-ownership and victim support. Alpha promotes all aspects of responsible dog ownership, 'Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme', 'KC Safe-And-Sound', 'Prevent-a-Bite', 'Poop-Scoop' campaigns and supports community events.

We wish all our volunteers a lovely New Year... you are all amazing and we thank you for giving your time and expertise to help all those that come to us for help, and for continued support and fun, as we simply could not run without you.

We wish our clients with their lovely dogs, continued success and congratulate those that achieved their GCDS targets. We are starting back on Sunday 4th January 2026 and hope to see you soon... suitably dressed for fun in the brrrrr... cold! 🥶

Gold & Silver at 10.15, Bronze 12.30.
We wish everyone taking a test a successful outcome. 🤞

We will be closed after Sunday 21st December until Sunday 4th January.

We wish all our valuable clients with their beautiful canine companions a super festive break, and we are certain that you join us in wishing our fantastic team of passionate Instructors good fortune and a very happy New Year. 🥳

Saturday 19th April at 12.30pm: Good Citizen Dog Scheme Testing.
Gold & Silver 12.30, Bronze 2.30pm [Alpha Clients £5, others £20]

Sunday 20th April at 10am: 3hr Introductory Session for Puppies
NB. No 10.30 / 12.30 follow-on classes over Easter

Monday 21st April Agility Workshops:
Gentle start for young puppies at 10.00am,
First-timers 12.00pm, [Alpha Clients £20, others £25].
Previous Alpha Agility Clients 2.30pm [£10]

On Saturday December 14th, the Museum of Homelessness are holding their first ever 🐶Festive Dog Show 🐶 as a community celebration of our fur family and to raise funds for their winter appeal.

📣 Bank Holiday Monday workshops 📣

10.30am 'The Art of Clicker Training' 🐕Understanding the benefits of precise 'marking' appropriate behaviour is ideal for improving communication skills, and with it, the bond with dog(s). A fascinating tool for everyday use to make training fun and enjoyable for both owner and dog.

2pm 'Structure, Movement & Massage' 🐾
A must for all, designed to help owners understand and aid the functional wellbeing of their dogs at all stages of their life, from puppy development, through to their golden years. Spotting signs of pain and discomfort is an essential element when considering a veterinary consult and often an unseen contributor in many behaviour changes.

These practical workshops are expected to run for 1.5hrs - 2hrs, each at £20 for Alpha clients, £30 for others.
Numbers may be limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment 🗓️

🚨We will be closed from Sat 20th to Sunday 28th July (inclusive), as some of us will be attending the annual PDTI (Pet Dog Training Instructors)practical awards course.

We would appreciate that from Wed 17th, to avoid a heavy unanswered backlog for our return, you wait until Monday 29th before sending emails or leaving tel messages.
