In 2021, Andreea saw them in her headlights: Dad Nero and his daughter Cindy. Abandoned, alone… but together.

Nero, the devoted dad, caring for his little girl in a world that had forgotten them.

They came to the UK, went into foster care, and waited months for their forever home. We never wanted to separate them, and the wait was worth every second.

Five years on, they are still inseparable, thriving, and loved beyond measure. From abandoned to adored, from lost to home.

All thanks to our amazing rescuers and volunteers, quietly working behind the scenes, hearts devoted to one thing: the animals.

Could your family have a Charlie-shaped hole in it?

This happy boy is 6-7 years old and is small size. Charlie was rescued from the streets.

We don’t know what happened to him before, but he is such a lovely boy who loves all the volunteers at the sanctuary! Charlie is great with all female dogs, and calm males too, but he isn’t keen on too boisterous male dogs.

As National Volunteering Week begins, I want to take a moment to recognise and thank every single one of our incredible volunteers.

Our team is wonderfully diverse, united by one thing: a shared passion for saving lives. Whether someone gives two hours a month, a few hours a week, or their time every single day, each volunteer plays a vital role in Paws2Rescue. Every task completed, every journey made, every foster space offered, every message answered and every dog comforted helps make our mission possible.

Without our volunteers, we simply could not rescue as many dogs as we do, nor neuter so many to help prevent future suffering.

“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”

To every member of our Paws2Rescue family: thank you. Your kindness, dedication and compassion change lives every single day. From me, and from every dog whose life has been transformed because of you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Our neutering work in the communities is continuing, every single day. Never popular on social media, but it is at the heart of all we do.

Here is just one case from today:

Today we managed to help an elderly lady who loves her dog, but lives in a collapsing house and has serious financial problems.

We managed to groom the dog and performed a consultation. She has a food allergy, and we were able to get her some hypoallergenic kibble so she can recover from the pruritus. She also has ear problems due to the allergy and hyperkeratosis. We administered a small dose of dexamethasone to help with the inflammation and so we can properly clean her ears over the next few days. On her skin she also has a Malassezia infection, and we will bathe her with a special medicated shampoo for Malassezia. We gave her a deworming treatment with NexGard Spectra.

She was also spayed today, and has pyometra - she would have died without our intervention.

Your support of our work continues to save lives, thank you.

And they are here! All dogs have arrived in their forever or foster homes in the UK! From Southampton to the Isle of Skye, it is the first day of their new lives for our incredible Romanian and Ukranian dogs.

A huge thank you to those who donated to help get Matilda and Rose, foster dogs, onto this transport. You are a part of this journey too.

Nobby is looking for his family!

A truly brilliant dog, this 1 year old boy was rescued with his sister Nelly from the public shelter earlier this year.

Nobby loves all people of all ages including children, and is great with every other dog at the sanctuary too.

Whoever gets to adopt Nobby will be a very lucky family!
