The past few weeks haven't been easy. Losing Al and having to go back to work, being in his consult room and continuing to care for our clients and patients while trying to cope with such a huge loss, has been really hard. Linda's gesture today was so lovely and felt like a little ray of sunshine in a dark moment. We can't thank her enough. Gestures like this remind us that there are people out there who truly appreciate what we do, and that means the world to us ❀️

A little act of kidness goes a long way

Compassion fatigue is real. The emotional burnout in veterinary medicine is real.

Please be kind.

Behind every patient is a veterinary professional carrying the weight of difficult decisions, long hours, and deep emotional investment.

We cannot afford to lose any more good people.

A little kindness can make a bigger difference than you may realize.

Your impact on other people is bigger than you think. The way you speak, the way you react, even the smallest things you do stay with someone. A single sentence can echo in their mind for hours, sometimes even years. You may forget what you said or did, but for them, it becomes something they carry.

That is why your words and actions matter. You can be the reason someone feels seen, or the reason they start to doubt themselves. You can inspire someone to keep going, or leave them feeling drained without even realizing it. People are more affected than they show, and not everyone has the strength to shake things off.

So choose your presence carefully. You do not have to be perfect, just intentional. Because in a world where people are quietly struggling, you can either add to the weight they carry or be the reason it feels a little lighter.

Today we had little Theo in for his procedure, and his mum was understandably very anxious about him having a general anaesthetic.

Theo is clearly a very loved little dog β€” from doggy afternoon tea dates to a planned Easter egg hunt, he’s living his best life 🐾 He even arrived with the cutest personalised backpack, complete with his favourite toy, his blanket, and a packed lunch (which he thoroughly enjoyed during recovery!).

I’m happy to say everything went smoothly, and Theo is now safely back home with his mum

πŸ’— Had a little girl bringing her doggy for a consult yesterday. When she left, I found this tiny sticker on my scales and it completely made my day. Kids have the sweetest way of spreading joy without even trying. :)
