Poor Karma! Everyone loves her, everyone admires her… but nobody picks her! 💔

Our gorgeous girl has been casting her spells, hoping someone will fall in love with her and finally take her home. 🪄✨

Karma isn't asking for much. She just needs:

🐶 Another dog to share her life with.

🏡 Someone who is home most of the time to give her the love and companionship she deserves.

❤️ A family who will choose HER!

She's got the magic, the charm and plenty of love to give. All she's missing is her very own happy ending.

🐾 DOG THEFT – IS IT EASIER TO FIND A DOG AND KEEP IT THAN TO STEAL ONE? 🐾

Thousands of dogs go missing across the UK, and some are never reunited with their owners.

But here's an important question: How many missing dogs have actually been found by someone who simply decided to keep them?

⚖️ WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?

Under the Pet Abduction Act 2024, taking a dog or unlawfully detaining it to prevent its return can be a criminal offence, carrying up to FIVE YEARS in prison.

Under the Theft Act 1968, dishonestly keeping a found dog with the intention of permanently depriving its owner can also amount to theft.

🐕 FINDING A DOG DOES NOT MAKE YOU ITS OWNER!

If you find a stray dog, you must return it to its owner or report it to the local authority.

🔴 THE PROBLEM IS ENFORCEMENT.

Someone caught physically stealing a dog may be identified through CCTV or witnesses.

But what happens when someone finds a lost dog, takes it home and never reports it?

How does the owner prove where their dog has gone?

How many of these cases are investigated?

At SalliPets Dog Rescue, we believe this deserves greater attention.

We want to know how many dogs have disappeared across Redhill, Bletchingley, Godstone, Lingfield and surrounding areas over the past five years and have NEVER been recovered.

A missing dog isn't necessarily a stolen dog. But a dog reported as lost may have been unlawfully kept by someone who found it.

🐅 THE TRAGIC TIGER INCIDENT – HAVE WE FORGOTTEN THAT ANIMALS ARE ANIMALS?
The tragic incident in which a man lost his life involving a tiger raises a wider issue: the increasing tendency to humanise animals and forget their natural instincts.
At SalliPets Dog Rescue, we see this mentality all too often.
Animals are not children, toys, fashion accessories or extensions of human emotions. They are living creatures with their own instincts, behaviours, needs and boundaries.
Loving an animal does not mean treating it like a human being. It means understanding and respecting it for what it is.
Unfortunately, this attitude is also reflected in the online harassment and coordinated hostility directed towards animal rescues. Online gang-stalking-style behaviour, including repeated targeting, public attacks and coordinated abuse, can create a hostile environment for people who are simply trying to protect animals.
Some individuals appear to believe that their personal views about animal welfare should be imposed on everyone else. Anyone who challenges those views risks being attacked, ridiculed or publicly vilified.
At SalliPets, we believe in treating animals as animals, not as substitute children.
That does not mean we love them any less. Quite the opposite. It means recognising their natural behaviour, respecting their instincts and providing an environment suited to their needs.
Animal welfare should be based on knowledge, experience, behaviour and evidence — not emotional projection, online harassment or social media outrage.
We can love animals deeply without pretending they are human.
🐾 Respect animals for what they are, not what we want them to be.
