What a day, what a dog show - Part One! 🐾❤️
Today was one of those days that leaves your feet aching, your cheeks hurting from smiling, and your heart feeling very full.
We had our little stand, with plenty of goodies to give away, advice to share, questions to answer and, most importantly, a friendly ear for anyone who fancied a chat. Because sometimes you don’t need a consultation… you just need someone who understands dogs to say, “Yep, I’d be worried about that too!” 😂
Myself the owner and veterinary surgeon, Dr Vicky, also had the absolute privilege of judging two categories: Best Puppy and Best Rescue.
Best Puppy was, quite frankly, impossible. How are you supposed to choose when they are ALL delicious?! 🥹🐶 So, to anyone who didn’t win - we’re sorry. You were all winners in our eyes!
And then there was Best Rescue… 🥹❤️
Hearing the stories behind these wonderful dogs was a proper tear-jerker. Meeting the humans who have opened up their homes, their hearts and their lives to give a gorgeous animal a second chance was genuinely moving. There is something very special about people who choose to adopt, not shop, and make space in their lives for a rescue who needs them.
We laughed. We chatted. We got stuck in. We met some truly brilliant dogs and even more brilliant humans.
And yes… we are absolutely exhausted. 😂
So a HUGE thank you to the wonderful members of my team who were able to give up their precious weekend time to come along and help make the day as special as it was for everyone. ❤️
I’m incredibly lucky to have you all. 🐾
But tonight, we’re going to bed tired and very, very happy - reminded all over again of why we do what we do, and most importantly, why we do it the way we do it.
Small, independent veterinary practice. Honest advice. Proper conversations. No judgement. Kindness at the centre of everything.
Because honest vetting means caring about the whole picture - animal & human.
And one thing today reminded us of more than anything:
You’ll never regret being kind. ❤️🐾
Thank you, Friends of Wandsworth Common and Rebecca Byrne | Dog Trainer | South West London for such a lovely day. We’ll see you next year! 🐶
