We are hiring retail & visitor experience assistants!

We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and proactive applicants to join our Retail Team at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo. We are offering flexible working pattern’s to suit you.

As a retail & visitor experience assistant at the zoo, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality customer service, maintaining welcoming facilities and creating memorable experiences for our guests in our gift shop, cafe and around the zoo!

Whether you’re a student, a local who’d love to be part of our zoo family, or someone looking for a part-time role with a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
You might be looking for something flexible alongside your career, a parent wanting shifts that fit around childcare, or simply someone who enjoys working in a unique environment with great people.

Diego and Nellie, our resident Cotton-Top Tamarins, are getting an early celebration! Official Cotton-Top Tamarin Day is on the 15th August, but we are starting the party a day early on Friday 14th August!

These amazing little primates are critically endangered in the wild. Join us to learn all about their unique personalities and how our team helps support their conservation in the wild.

🐸 Meet our red-eyed tree frogs!

With their bright green bodies, vivid red eyes and brilliant orange toes, these colourful amphibians are true rainforest lookouts. Did you know that a group of red-eyed tree frogs is actually called an army?

As nocturnal hunters, they spend their days resting under giant leaves before waking up at sunset. Their excellent vision and lightning-fast reflexes help them catch prey like crickets and moths in the dark.

It’s been a PIG day 🧡🐷

This morning our keeper team said goodbye to our latest wonderful litter of Oxford Sandy & Black Piglets, who were born at the zoo on 25th May 2026. They’re travelling a short distance down the road to our project partners, in collaboration with Oxford Sandy & Black Pig Society, where they will continue to support their breed, with some going on to breed themselves one day too. 🐖

With as few as 350-500 individuals remaining, they are one of our “at risk” native breeds, and feature in the Rare Breeds Survival Trust watchlist. Today they are being saved from disappearing forever by dedicated keepers up and down the country, supported by the amazing work of the Oxford Sandy & Black Pig Society. We are incredibly proud to be a part of their conservation story. 🐽

We know many of our members and visitors have loved watching our 7 cheeky piglets growing up over the last couple of months. Especially seeing mum Ruth doing such a fantastic job of raising her litter! We can confidently say that Ruth is very much looking forward to the peace and quiet - and no longer needing to share her food! 🍎

We want to say another huge thank you to the dedicated people behind the Oxford Sandy & Black pig society for their collaboration with this project. We look forward to continuing our work to protect this breed going forward.

Our breeding sow, Ruth, and her companion Winny are huge characters on our farm section, so be sure to stop by and meet them at our daily pig talk at 1:30pm! 🧡
