And now, we are proud to have recently created our new Premium Pet Care Plan! 🎉

🌱 Pepperoni’s unexpected bladder visitor! 🐶

This is Pepperoni, a very cute Dachshund who unfortunately had a rather unusual problem… a grass seed inside his bladder! 🌱😳

Grass seeds can sometimes migrate through the body, and in Pepperoni’s case, one had made its way all the way up his urethra into his bladder. This was causing him problems and, after further investigation, surgery was required.

Thankfully, Pepperoni’s grass seed was successfully removed and he is now fully recovered! 🥰

A great reminder that pesky grass seeds can cause all sorts of problems for our pets, particularly during the warmer months. They can become lodged in paws, ears, eyes, skin — and in very unusual cases, migrate further into the body. Always keep an eye out for these being lodged in your pet’s coat and remove them as soon as you see them.

🦷🐶 Retained deciduous teeth troubles!

Did you know that puppies have baby teeth, just like us? 🐾

Sometimes, these deciduous (baby) teeth don’t fall out when they should, leaving the adult teeth to grow in alongside them. This is particularly common with the canine teeth and can lead to damage to the adult canine, accelerated dental disease and discomfort.

This gorgeous pup Rufus came to see us to have a retained deciduous canine tooth removed, helping to make room for his adult teeth to develop into the correct position. 🩺✨

Early dental checks are important to make sure your puppy’s teeth are developing as they should!

🐾 Top tip: If you notice your puppy has two teeth in the same place, book a dental check with your vet.

📰 Newspaper Donations Needed 🐾

We’re running low on old newspapers at the practice and would be so grateful for any donations.

If you have any newspapers you’re planning to recycle, we’d love to give them a good use caring for our patients instead. Please drop them into reception during our opening hours.

Thank you so much for your support! ❤️

✨ Assess your pet’s body condition
✨ Work out their ideal weight

This critter was found on an ear swab from a kitten with mucky ears! 🕷️👀

This is an ear mite (Otodectes cynotis), and they’re particularly common in kittens and other young animals. They can cause itchy, dirty ears and lots of dark waxy debris.

Luckily, they’re generally straightforward to treat! 🐱💙
