⚠ Hot Weather Warning for Pet Owners ⚠
With temperatures soaring, we are seeing an increase in heat-related illnesses in pets. Even a short journey to and from the vets can be challenging for animals in this weather.
Please take extra to keep your pet safe.
🐾If you feel your appointment can wait or is a routine appointment, please call us to move your appointment.
🐾If possible, avoid bringing brachycephalic (flat faced) breeds to the practice unless it's an emergency.
🐾If your pet needs to travel to the vets, try to keep journeys as cool as possible, using air con etc.
🐾Allow extra time to avoid rushing in the heat.
🐾Ensure pets always have access to fresh, cool water.
🐾Provide plenty of shade and well-ventilated areas.
🐾Avoid walking during the hottest parts of the day.
🐾NEVER leave pets in parked vehicles, even for a few minutes.
🐾Watch for signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, or collapse.
