🎉Charity Fundraiser🎉
Branch Partner Alba and her son Liam, will be climbing in July, with 60 other school friends and parents, to the top of SNOWDON, to raise money for his school and a fantastic charity called Momentum!!
When Liam’s little brother was diagnosed with cancer during the pandemic times, it all came as
a shock for their family. Alba and her husband, felt strong and focused on trying to fight this horrible situation, with as much enthusiasm as they could. Unfortunately, it is unavoidable, Liam’s little brother became the focus of all their energy. Leaving Liam and his sister feeling slightly forgotten.
Alba and her family found the charity Momentum in Kingston Hospital. The charity was welcoming and understanding, and even though they felt they did not need them, they helped in many ways. From a secret cupboard full of goodies for kids and adults in each hospital they
went (they had the “green Momentum Key”), to visits to cabins next to the seaside, visits from
Santa, boat outings, unexpected talks in the hospital over a cup of tea….
Slowly Alba and her family realised that the charity was helping other families in the area too, and that everyone was connected by their warm embrace. Sadly, there are many families nearby living with children with cancer and chronic terminal illness.
All the families need that warmth that Momentum can bring to their homes, to make them remember that they are still a family that can share smiles and happiness in these difficult times.
