Mudchute Park & Farm

Mudchute Park & Farm Mudchute is a fantastic destination for families, animal lovers, and anyone looking to enjoy nature
(1331)

Established in the 1970's, Mudchute Park and Farm is one of the largest city farms in Europe. With 32 acres of countryside, located a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of Canary Wharf, the farm is a place where you can experience rural life without leaving the city. We are proud to be one of London's only Rare Breed Survival Trust's Approved Conservation Farm Parks. The farm is home to

over 100 animals, including pigs, sheep, goats, cows, ducks, geese, chickens, rabbits, and even llamas. Visitors can get up close and personal with the animals by feeding them or petting them under the supervision of the farm's expert staff. In addition to its animal residents, Mudchute Park and Farm boasts a range of facilities for visitors. The farm has a cafe serving delicious homemade food, and a gift shop selling a range of souvenirs and farm produce. The Farm includes a Children's Nursery and offers many facilities for local residents, businesses and schools, including an Education Centre, Corporate Volunteering Days, Team Building Days, Party Hire, Meeting Rooms, Venue and Field Hire for large and small meetings and events. The farm also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including open days, seasonal festivals, and educational workshops. The Farm is a community charity and our aim is
* to preserve the natural environment of the Mudchute
* to promote for local people the opportunity of recreation and leisure on the Mudchute, especially the young, the elderly and those of limited economic means
* to advance the education of local people in countryside activities
* to promote animal welfare through engagement with the Farm
* to provide education and training for young people
* to promote conservation both of the natural and the built environment

Mudchute Park and Farm is a fantastic destination for families, animal lovers, and anyone looking to escape city life and enjoy some time in nature. With its wide range of facilities and activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy at this unique urban farm.

Over the two days of our Agricultural show (6-7 June) we will be welcoming a huge variety of sheep from farmers based all over the U.K. All will be competing in classes within different sections.

Primitive Sheep - Some of the oldest breeds that exist, breeds like the Soay, Hebridean and Castlemilk Moorits.

Hill and Heath - These are breeds that are from the upland areas of the U.K. and include breeds like the Norfolk Horn, Whitefaced Woodland and Derbyshire Gritstone.

Longwool - These breeds are known for their fine fleeces and their wool is used to make clothing and other garments, some breeds in section include, Leicester longwool, Greyface Dartmoor and Border Leicester.

Downland - These are breeds that are some our biggest and most developed and include breeds like the Oxford Down, Shropshire and Ryeland.

Come along and see how many sheep breeds you can spot, who will be winning the prizes and go on to ultimately win the much converted interbreed Championship.
