This gorgeous girl is feeling light as a feather after her grooming session with us!😄

Sometimes our long haired feline friends need a little help in the grooming department, and our lovely nursing team are happy to be of assistance!

Why is grooming important for long-haired cats?

😺 Minimises hairballs caused by swallowed fur
😺 Keeps the coat and skin healthy
😺 Allows early detection of lumps, bumps, parasites, or skin issues

😸It's National Microchipping Month! 🐶

This month we are spreading the word on the importance of microchipping our pet's and keeping these details on the microchip up to date! Microchipping ensures that if your pet was ever lost, they can be reunited with you as quickly as possible! 💚💚

Did you know?
💉Microchipping has been a legal requirement for dogs since 2016, and for cat's since 2024
👩‍⚕️A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and last for their whole life!
🩺Cat's can be microchipped from 12 weeks old and dogs from 8 weeks old
🐢Not just dogs and cats can be microchipped, you can also chip other animals such as tortoises and rabbits.

🐣It's Fledgling Season! 🐥

It's that time of the year where young birds are learning to fly, we know loads of people are keen to help them which is lovely but If you see a young bird on the ground, it usually does not need rescuing, fledglings leave the nest before they can fully fly and spend a few days hopping around while their parents continue feeding and protecting them nearby! 💚💚

What to do if you see one:
✅ Move the bird only If the bird is in immediate danger (road, pavement, exposed area), move it only a short distance to nearby cover such as shrubs or a low branch.
✅ Leave the bird where it is if it appears alert and uninjured and in a safe space.
✅ Contact a wildlife rehabilitator if the bird is injured and follow their advice before picking the bird up.
✅ Watch from a distance as parents are often close by

Please don’t pick up healthy fledglings unless they’re injured or at risk. Giving them space gives them the best chance to survive. 💚

🐾💚 It’s National Rescue Dog Day! 💚🐾

Today, we’re celebrating the incredible work of rescue charities, foster carers, and adopters who help give dogs the second chance they deserve 🐶✨

Pictured are gorgeous Archie and Carter- two rescue dogs who are now living their best lives with members of our team 💚

Archie was rescued from a small independent charity in Kent after spending time in foster care. He was just 7 months old when the charity took him in and was sadly very underweight 😥.
Now, Archie is absolutely thriving with our RVN George, and her family. These days, his favourite things are snoozing on the sofa and chasing tennis balls 🎾😴.

Carter was rescued from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in 2018 by our lovely Clinical Nursing Manager, Jess, and he has been her furry shadow ever since. Jess says she was certain she wanted a spaniel, but the moment she met Carter she instantly fell in love with his d***y, loving personality, and the rest is history! Carter has recently become a big brother to his human baby sister, and Jess says he’s been absolutely amazing with her 💖🐾.

Rescue dogs really do make the most wonderful companions! 💚💚💚

👩‍⚕️🐾 Meet Georgia! 🐾👩‍⚕️

Georgia is one of the friendly faces at our Vet4life Teddington clinic and has been part of the team for 5 years! 💚

After graduating from the University of Bristol in 2019, Georgia began her career in mixed practice, caring for animals both big and small. In April 2021, she joined Vet4life to follow her passion for working with small animals 🐶😸.

When asked what she loves most about her job, Georgia says it’s the amazing team she works with and the fact that no two days in practice are ever the same.

Outside of work, Georgia enjoys:
🐴 Horse riding
🏑 Playing hockey
🛫 Travelling to new places

We’re so lucky to have Georgia as part of the Vet4life family! 💚
