Most of you know the last year or so hasn’t been easy for us here.

At one point I genuinely thought I cannot keep taking a loss from closing due to health. Clients understandably finding new groomers due to interruptions or rescheduling, most clients providing nothing but unwavering support advice and often a shoulder to cry on.

Let’s not even discuss how mentally fked It was making me continuing to push through a fully booked schedule months and months in advance, hospital apps, two ferral kids, my own dogs, a team relying on wages, rent and bills due. Mate this is wild and I’ve always been honest from day one that life is a wild ride. Social media makes it seem easy!

But despite it all we refused to give up something we’re incredibly passionate about (lolssss the ADHD in me just cannot stop…so instead it’s just shorter working weeks now)

I am SO happy myself and every one of us in the salon figured it out and we’re still here operating in a way that makes us able to continue a job we love so much, in a way that means no burn out, no rushed jobs, no heavy rotation of dogs in a stressful environment.

We are unique, from the inside out.
We love a chin wag.
We love our clients.
We love being in your budgets.
We love seeing you down the pub and buying eachother a drink.
We love seeing your dogs out rolling in the mud or chasing squirrels on our own dog walks.

We’ve built something so special. Not a salon.
A community.
A extended family.

Our whole team are between 22-30 years old.
From all walks of life.
And when you stop and think about it, it’s pretty incredible what a team of determined young women can achieve when they come together.

What we love the most is reading the reviews. Because if there is one thing we will always get right, that is caring for an animal with the greatest passion you will ever hope to receive.

He’s only a youngster but my gosh he is becoming quite the pro at this grooming stuff. We love to see it!

See, those schedules we advise do work.. it also took two groomers to tackle his giant ball of fluff 😆

LISTEN UP! .. 🧛‍♂️

After a unanimous vote, October is now teeth month at The Canine Parlour! (Step back Dracula, the CP clients are coming for better teeth than you’ll ever have)

Jokes aside, We’ve seen a worrying increase in dogs coming into the salon with significant plaque and tartar build-up, inflamed gums and poor oral health — and in many cases, their owners had absolutely no idea.

Owners also had no idea that they should be having their pets teeth cleaned regularly 🙈

Because unless you’re actively checking, it’s incredibly easy to miss.

Just like coat, nails and ears, your dog’s mouth needs regular attention too. Teeth cleaning shouldn’t only start once their teeth look or smell really bad.
In fact, that’s often when it’s far too late and removal at the vets is the outcome.

Throughout October, we’ll be checking oral health during every single groom thoroughly and letting you know if we think your dog would benefit from our ultrasonic teeth-cleaning service, and having a good chat with owners about individual cases.

So if we mention their teeth at collection, please don’t ignore it. We’re mentioning it because we’ve seen something that very much needs attention. 🤍

Go and lift their lip now. Have a proper look. 👀

If you’re looking at their teeth thinking “oh… I’m not sure if they’re good or bad” — message us, we’re here to direct you for the best treatment wether that’s with us, or straight to the vets.

Book yours today, we offer teeth cleaning as a stand alone appointment or an add on to your groom.

In your pets first teeth cleaning session we assess the gum health and plaque buildup, provide a full assessment feedback and also refer owners where necessary for veterinary intervention clean under sedation.

Please, don’t leave your pets teeth to develop heavy plaque buildup or inflamed gums. Not only is this detrimental to their health, it’s very avoidable with consistent cleaning from a young age.
