Pet Memorial Day 2026 🌈🐾

Today, we stop to remember the beloved paw prints left on our hearts forever.

They greet us, comfort us, and fill our hearts with unconditional love. Whilst the time they are with us is never long enough, the memories they leave stay with us forever.

We invite our community to share memories, photos, or even just a name of a special companion who have their angel wings.

🐕New research from the Royal Veterinary College has revealed that three-legged dogs use different movement strategies at different speeds, including a gallop-like gait at higher speeds that resembles movement in four-legged dogs.
It gives important new insights about limb loss which could help inform both rehabilitation strategies for canine amputees.
🤖 The findings may also help inform the development of adaptive legged robots capable of responding to limb loss.

Meet Georgina Tyrrell - Operations Manager at the RVC's Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital based in Camden, London
Her career journey reflects this year's Vet Nurse Awareness month theme of 'Passion'
💬I qualified as an RVN from the Royal Veterinary College - graduating in 2012 with a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Nursing.
Since then, I’ve worked in a variety of first opinion practices and gained referral nursing experience at RVC Queen Mother Hospital for Animals. After working as a Head Nurse at a local first opinion practice - I then returned to the RVC to lead the Hospital Coordinator team at the Small Animal Referrals service for over 4 years.
I love the variety my current role brings. I work with our brilliant practice team to drive improvements and find solutions every day.
I never imagined my career would develop the way it has, but veterinary nursing has given me so many opportunities, and I genuinely love what I do"

❔ Is your small pet up to date with their vaccines
💉 Vaccinating our small pets helps us protect them against serious infectious diseases
🗓️ Many owners don't realise that vaccines need to be given regularly in the forms of boosters to ensure maximum protection
👩‍⚕️Here at BSAH we vaccinate small pets such as ferrets and rabbits regularly, using approved friendly methods to make it as stress free as possible
❗ New strains of viruses have developed over the last few years but we make sure we're up to date on the most current knowledge to put your mind at rest
