🌼 Harrow’s looking rather fabulous! 🌼

Little Harrow visited us recently for his castration procedure, and we’re very pleased to say he recovered brilliantly! 🐱💙

And, of course, we couldn’t let him leave without showing off his very fetching flower buster collar 🌼 We think he’s absolutely rocking the look!

✨ Why castrate your cat?
Castration can help prevent unwanted litters, reduce roaming and fighting, and can decrease behaviours such as urine spraying. It also means fewer unwanted kittens and helps contribute to responsible pet ownership. 🐾

Pharmacist day 2026!

Today is world pharmacist day, which also makes the perfect time for us to introduce Melodie Collin; our new dispensary nurse!

Dispensary nursing is a vital part of a veterinary hospital. From preparing and dispensing medications to carefully checking prescriptions, managing stock and supporting the wider clinical team, there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to ensure our patients receive the right medication!

Melodie plays a key role in keeping our dispensary running smoothly and safely, working closely with our vets, RVN's and wider hospital team to support the care of our patients.
We’re incredibly lucky to have her on our team and her role is an essential part of the smooth running of our hospital.

🐕 If you have diagnosed a dog with canine insulinoma, you may be able to help us with our research. The study will compare treatment with corticosteroids and/or surgery alone vs treatment with corticosteroids and/or surgery and toceranib phosphate, assessing the effectiveness of toceranib phosphate therapy in the treatment of insulinomas in dogs.

Say hello to Megan!

Megan has joined us as a new staff clinician in our Exotics team. She will be covering Jo's sabbatical.

When asked what inspired her to work with animals, she said that the pet chickens she had as a child made her realise how limited treatment options for exotic species were and how important it was to her to promote the same level of care as some of our more commonly kept pets.

She has specialist training in small mammals, with a particular interest in supporting our elderly bunny companions but also enjoys Avian medicine, especially backyard poultry (she really does love chickens).

Megan is looking forward to teaching students and supporting our leading exotics service with the high standards we promote.

We're thrilled to have her join the team and would love it if you guys would wish her the best of cluck (hehe) in her new role!

🌿Grass seeds are often a common problem for dogs.
❗These sharp seeds can get stuck in ears, eyes and paws. They can work their way under the dog's skin and cause severe discomfort and infections.
👀Watch out for signs such as head shaking, rubbing eyes, and limping or licking paws.
Help prevent these problems by checking your pet’s coat and paws after walks to remove any superficial seeds, or by avoiding walks in long grass.

❤️Hachikō walked his owner, Professor Hidesaburo Ueno, to Shibuya Station every morning and met him there in the afternoon during the 1920s. After Ueno died at work in 1925, the dog returned to the station daily until his own death in 1935.
