I’ve always been open about the fact that not every behaviour can be resolved using rewards alone (although, of course, it can depend on the situation).

The dog training world is full of different views and opinions, but for me, it’s about teaching my dogs that it always pays to listen. This doesn’t just make life easier—it keeps them safe.

When your dog trusts that you’ll guide and protect them, your relationship naturally becomes stronger. That trust allows them more freedom, more opportunities, and ultimately a much bigger, more fulfilling world.

People often think that dog trainers are there to come and wave a wand and fix your dog.

That’s not our job!

That’s your job and why our slogan is ‘helping you, help your dog.’

Our job as trainers is to come and offer our assessment on your dog and their behaviour and provide you with solid advice on how you can combat those behaviours and begin to resolve them. How long that takes is completely down to the consistency of training in your home and how much work you and your family put in 😊

⚠️🐾 PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU WALK YOUR DOG IN THIS HEAT 🐾⚠️

Even at 5pm (17:00), the ground is STILL far too hot for our dogs. Pavements, roads, and even grass hold heat all day and can burn sensitive paws in seconds.

If it’s too hot for your bare feet, it’s too hot for theirs.

🔥 Pavement temperatures can remain dangerously high well into the evening
🔥 Dogs can overheat quickly and suffer heatstroke
🔥 Short walks in high temps can still be harmful

Please consider:
✔️ Skipping walks during hot days
✔️ Walking very early morning or late at night
✔️ Keeping your dog cool indoors
✔️ Providing plenty of fresh water and shade
Our dogs rely on us to make safe choices for them ❤️

Let’s keep them safe, cool, and comfortable during this heat 🐶💛

This is such a good post and so very true.

Remember consistency matters, we educate our children until they are 18 yet expect our dogs to be trained in at least 12 months if not younger
