We all love playing with our pups and when it comes to playing fetch outside 🌳 many people will choose to throw sticks.

But did you know injuries from playing fetch with sticks are quite common? πŸš‘

Sticks can cause serious injuries to your dog's mouth, throat and even internal organs as they break or splinter into sharp pieces. They can also cause nasty puncture wounds if the dog runs into a stick pointing into the air πŸ€•

So please resist the temptation to throw sticks for your pup next time you're outside πŸ’™

Going to the beach this summer? Although the beach can be great fun for our furry friends, ensure you keep your pup safe by looking out for these hazards:
🌊 heatstroke
🌊 burnt paws
🌊 sharp objects
🌊 foreign body ingestion
🌊 human food
🌊 jellyfish
🌊 salt/water poisoning
🌊 sand impaction
🌊 stranded palm oil
🌊 strong currents

Many of these hazards can be easily avoided by keeping a watchful eye on your pup as they explore their new environment.
We hope you have a nice summer and be safe!

🐝 nibbling or chewing the skin
🐝 pawing at the affected area

Most reactions are mild and can be managed at home. If your dog is stung multiple times, stung inside the mouth or has an allergic reaction, more serious reactions can occur.

Please look out for:
⚠️ excessive swelling at the sting site
⚠️ skin hives
⚠️ swelling of the eyelids and muzzle
⚠️ vomiting, diarrhoea
⚠️ rapid breathing or difficulty breathing
⚠️ pale gums
⚠️ weakness and collapse

What to do when your dog is stung:
