🩺 5 signs your cat might be unwell - that you shouldn't ignore! ❤️

Cats are experts at hiding pain and illness, which means small changes in their behaviour can sometimes be the first sign that something isn't right. 🐾
Here are 5 things to look out for:
🐱 1. Changes in appetite or thirst
Is your cat eating less, refusing food or suddenly drinking much more than usual? These changes can be signs of an underlying health problem.
2. Hiding more than usual 🏡
If your normally sociable cat starts hiding away, becomes withdrawn or seems unusually grumpy, they could be feeling unwell or in pain.
3. Changes in toileting habits
Urinating more frequently, passing urine outside the litter tray, diarrhoea or constipation can all indicate a problem. If your cat is straining to pass urine or producing little or no urine, seek emergency veterinary care immediately.

4. Sleeping more or having less energy 😴
Although cats naturally sleep a lot, unusual tiredness, weakness or a loss of interest in playing may be a sign that something isn't right.

🐱 5. Changes in grooming or appearance 🐾
A scruffy coat, reduced grooming, excessive licking, weight loss or a sudden change in appearance can all be signs of illness or discomfort.
❤️ Remember , You know your cat best! If you notice any unusual changes, don't wait for things to get worse. Cats can hide pain very well, so early veterinary advice can make a real difference.

A beautiful burrito 🌯 ♥️
This sweet little lady came in with Protected Paws for her spay, and she’ll soon be looking for her forever home. 🏡💗

Spaying is such an important part of responsible cat care. It prevents unwanted litters and helps reduce the number of kittens who end up without homes. It can also prevent potentially serious reproductive health problems, including uterine infections, and eliminates the risk of ovarian and uterine cancers.
Most importantly, spaying helps us give cats like this beautiful girl the best chance of finding a safe, loving forever home. 🐱💕
She is such a lovely girl, and we can’t wait to see her find her happily ever after..Thank you to Protected Paws for helping give her that chance. 🐾❤️

This sweet girl came in for some blood tests and fluids after helping herself to a mince pie! 😅
She’s now getting the TLC she needs while we keep a close eye on her 💕 Hopefully Phoebe has learned that mince pies are for humans… although we suspect she may disagree! 👀🐾
