Fireworks might be exciting for us, but for many dogs, the sudden bangs and flashes can be frightening.

A few simple things you can do now:

- Create a quiet, comfortable space where your dog feels safe.
- Walk earlier in the day before fireworks are likely to start.
- Close curtains and use background noise to help soften the sounds.
- Let your dog choose where they feel safest and offer reassurance if they seek it.

💡 Remember: You can't reinforce fear by comforting your dog. If they need reassurance, give it.

A little preparation now can make a big difference when the fireworks begin.

👉 Save this reminder and share it with a fellow dog owner.

As our dogs get older, they may slow down, sleep more or find activities they once loved a little harder.

But they still need opportunities to explore, think, make choices and have fun.

💡 One of our favourites? Scentwork.

Sniffing gives senior dogs valuable mental stimulation without needing to run, jump or move at speed. Even something as simple as hiding a few treats around the garden or slowing down for a good sniff on a walk can add enrichment to their day.

Our latest blog looks at caring for your senior dog, the changes to look out for and some really simple scentwork games you can try at home.

PUPPY 101: Start with the foundations.

New puppy? There’s no need to teach them everything at once.

Before perfect sits, stays and recalls, focus on helping your puppy feel safe, build confidence and understand their new world.

💡 One thing to remember: good socialisation isn’t about meeting everyone. Sometimes calmly watching the world go by is far more valuable.

Rest. Choice. Positive experiences. Calm routines. Plenty of rewards for the behaviours you want to see again.

Those little things now can make a BIG difference later.

Barking. Jumping. Lead grabbing. Zoomies. Pulling. And seemingly forgetting every cue they know the minute you leave the house…

It might not simply be too much energy. Your dog could be over-aroused.

💡 Little nugget: Sometimes adding more exercise can actually add to the problem. Some dogs need less intensity, more recovery time and more opportunities to sniff, rest and decompress.

Our latest blog looks at the signs of over-arousal, what can cause it and simple ways you can help your dog find their calm.

A little behind the scenes of our Group Training Walks… 🐾

These aren’t just dog walks.

They’re a chance to practise real-life training, around real-life distractions, alongside other owners who completely get it.

Each walk focuses on different skills from recall and lead walking to focus and communication…. with plenty of support along the way.

And the bonus? You become part of a pretty lovely dog-loving community too.

🐕 Train together. Walk together. Learn together.

Spaces are limited on each walk. Come and join the gang →

Has your dog’s behaviour changed recently?

Maybe they’re suddenly more reactive, reluctant to be touched, slowing down on walks or just seem a little… different.

Pain isn’t always obvious and a dog who still runs, plays and gets excited can still be experiencing discomfort.

Sometimes it’s worth looking beyond the behaviour and asking **why**.

Read our latest blog to discover some of the less obvious signs that pain could be affecting your dog.

Our October Paid Walks Schedule has landed!

Training doesn't have to mean endless sits and stays... It can mean learning how to behave in social settings so, our group training walks take part in real life environments such as cafes, pubs and parks.

Does your dog struggle in these environments? If so, these friendly small group lessons will help you and your dog cope better when visiting stimulating places.

Where would be your preferred training setting? Comment below.
