Billy came in today for his neutering procedure with Delphi and was such a brave boy 🐾💙

He’s now all done and recovering well after lots of cuddles from Naomi she fell in love with this handsome fluffy lad! 💤✨

We are looking forward to seeing Billy again for his post procedure check! 🐶💛

Benefits of neutering🐾

✔️ Prevents unwanted litters – helps reduce accidental breeding and stray populations
✔️ Reduces certain health risks – lowers the chance of testicular cancer and can reduce prostate problems
✔️ May improve behaviour – often reduces roaming, mounting, and urine marking
✔️ Less aggression in some dogs – especially hormone-driven behaviour (not all cases)
✔️ No season-related distractions – less focus on female dogs in heat
✔️ Long-term welfare benefit – generally supports responsible pet ownership

Every dog is different, so your vet will always advise what’s best for individual cases 🩺🐶

Meet Marley 🐾💙

This handsome Labrador came to see us after getting a stick lodged in the roof of his mouth while out playing. Poor Marley needed the stick to be carefully removed under sedation, but thankfully he is now recovering well at home. 🩺

Sticks may seem harmless, but they can cause serious injuries to pets. If a stick becomes trapped in the mouth or throat, it can lead to:
• Pain and difficulty eating or swallowing
• Deep wounds or infection
• Damage to the tongue, palate, or throat
• Breathing difficulties in severe cases

It’s very important that your pet is seen by a vet as soon as possible if this happens. Delaying treatment can allow swelling, infection, or further injury to develop, making the problem much more serious.

If you notice your dog pawing at their mouth, drooling excessively, bleeding, or struggling to eat after playing with sticks, please contact your vet straight away.

We hope you feel better soon, Marley! 🐶💕

☀️ As the weather gets warmer, don’t forget that our pets can get sunburn too!

White or light-coloured animals are especially at risk, particularly on areas with thin fur such as the ears, nose, and eyelids. Repeated sun exposure can lead to painful burns and even increase the risk of skin cancer.

Here’s receptionist Nicole’s gorgeous cat, Bambi 🐱💛 — he always has pet-safe suncream applied to his ears before heading outside in the sunshine!

If your pet has white fur or pink skin, it’s important to:
🐾 Use pet-safe suncream on exposed areas
🐾 Avoid the hottest part of the day
🐾 Make sure they always have access to shade and fresh water

If you’re unsure which suncream is safe for your pet, feel free to ask our team for advice ☀️

🍽️🐾 Sunday roast smells amazing… but not everything on your plate is safe for your furry family members!

If you’re treating your dog or cat this weekend, stick to plain cooked meat and veg — and avoid things like bones, onions, garlic, stuffing and fatty scraps.

A little treat is fine, but too much rich food can quickly lead to upset tummies (or worse!). 💚

Check out our handy guide to see what’s safe to share and what should stay firmly on the dinner table.

🐶🐱 When in doubt, leave it out!

If your pet does get hold of something they shouldn’t, our 24-hour practice in Streatham Hill is always open — call them on 0208 674 3525.
