Meet Marley 🐾💙
This handsome Labrador came to see us after getting a stick lodged in the roof of his mouth while out playing. Poor Marley needed the stick to be carefully removed under sedation, but thankfully he is now recovering well at home. 🩺
Sticks may seem harmless, but they can cause serious injuries to pets. If a stick becomes trapped in the mouth or throat, it can lead to:
• Pain and difficulty eating or swallowing
• Deep wounds or infection
• Damage to the tongue, palate, or throat
• Breathing difficulties in severe cases
It’s very important that your pet is seen by a vet as soon as possible if this happens. Delaying treatment can allow swelling, infection, or further injury to develop, making the problem much more serious.
If you notice your dog pawing at their mouth, drooling excessively, bleeding, or struggling to eat after playing with sticks, please contact your vet straight away.
We hope you feel better soon, Marley! 🐶💕
