A little prep before your dog’s grooming appointment can make a big difference 🫶🏻

✅Go for a little walk first: it can help your dog use up some energy and arrive feeling calmer
✅Give them a quick toilet break: they’ll be more comfortable during their groom.
✅Tell your groomer anything they should know: let them know if your dog is nervous, has any health issues, struggles with their mobility or anything has changed recently.
✅Give them a quick brush, if you can: this can help remove loose hair and small tangles before their appointment.
✅Keep drop-off calm and relaxed: dogs pick up on how we’re feeling, so a calm goodbye can help them settle.
✅Try to arrive on time: it helps your groomer keep everything running smoothly.

Every dog is different, so if you’re ever unsure about anything, just have a chat with your groomer.

📌 Save this for your next grooming day!

We spend so much time choosing the best food, toys and treats for our dogs, but what about the person who’ll be caring for them every few weeks?

A qualified groomer does so much more than give your dog a great haircut. They build trust, handle dogs with care, recognise when something doesn’t look quite right, and always put your dog’s welfare first.

Because choosing a groomer isn’t just about how your dog looks when they leave, it’s about how they’re cared for every step of the way.

As our dogs get older, they often need a little extra care on their walks. 🫶🏻

Instead of focusing on distance, pay attention to how your dog is feeling. Walking slower, stopping more often or seeming stiff afterwards can all be signs they’ve had enough.

The good news is that a few simple changes, like shorter walks, softer ground and letting your dog set the pace; can make all the difference.

Every senior dog needs that little bit extra care and patience, so listen to what they’re telling you💖

The audacity 😭😂

Your dog doesn’t know what qualifications are.

They don’t know who’s experienced or who’s had professional training.

They simply trust you to make the right choice. ❤️

Choosing a qualified groomer means choosing someone who has invested in learning how to handle dogs safely, recognise signs of stress and provide the best possible care.

Because every dog deserves to feel safe from the moment they walk through the door.

Should you shave your double-coated dog in summer?

It’s one of the biggest dog grooming myths ❌

Breeds like Golden Retrievers, Border Collies, Huskies and German Shepherds have a double coat that helps regulate their body temperature in both warm and cold weather.

For most double-coated dogs, shaving isn’t recommended unless there’s a medical reason or your vet advises it.

Instead, regular brushing and professional de-shedding help remove loose undercoat, improve airflow through the coat and keep your dog feeling comfortable.

Every dog is different, so if you’re unsure what’s best for your dog’s coat, ask a qualified groomer for advice.

Did you already know this, or does it surprise you?

A little tip that can make a big difference! 🛁

Before bath time, always give your dog’s coat a good brush.
Water can tighten existing knots and tangles, making them much harder (and more uncomfortable) to remove afterwards.

A few extra minutes of brushing first can help keep your dog’s coat healthy and make grooming a much more enjoyable experience.

💙 Save this tip for your next bath day and share it with a fellow dog owner!
