Reggie would like to let everyone know that the Lee Navigation currently has blue-green algae .

As far as I’m aware, this feeds into the River Lea, which runs through the marshes. Although the water may look clear and is fast-flowing, I’d advise against letting dogs swim in it.

The ponds at Hollow Pond and Wanstead Flats are also affected.

There’s a useful app called **Blooming Algae** that reports locations where blue-green algae has been found.
