Woofs in the wood is a dog-walking and training service covering St. I offer my love of dogs, flexibility and competitive rates to keep dogs in North West London tired and happy five days a week. I am a Kiwi living in London, I like to be outdoors despite the weather, and having companions to share my walks with is a huge bonus! My love of all things four legged started at a young age. My family o

wned a pet shop and I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, rabbits and even peacocks. As a teenager I worked at a marine zoo where I later became a trainer, working with dolphins, sea lions, fur seals and otters. My training philosophy stems from this work: I believe in positive re-enforcement techniques and calm, consistent behavioural management. I am comfortable with both large and small breeds. I love them all and treat every dog I walk and train as though it were my own. Your dog’s welfare and safety is of upmost importance to me, so I will ask for as much information about your dog as possible. I offer:

- Free meet and greet at your home or park of your choice with 30-minute trial walk or 50% off first hour long walk.
- Fully insured and canine first-aid trained walker.
- Walking Monday-Friday with weekends by arrangement.
- Flexible hours and last minute bookings.
- Hour + walks. Unless you require your dog returned at a certain time, dogs will generally be out for longer than an hour at no extra cost.
- Messages to tell you when I have collected and returned your dog.
-Great discounts for advance payment and additional dog discount.
- Invoices with payment made by bank transfer or cash.

Woofs in the Wood says farewell to Aslan. Our tiny lion has moved (last year 😬) with his dear humans to Sweden…

We met Aslan when he was just eight weeks old and terribly ill with Giardia: no one knew if he would make it, but make it he did to well and truly earn his insta handle: Aslan Almighty.

Aslan had a very unique vocal ability…

When terribly excited he emits a siren call that unleashes a canine car choir of epic inescapable “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” glory…all the way to the park (swipe and lower your volume for an aural treat). Since Aslan has been gone, the ride is pretty quiet: though Tipsy sometimes lets out a wistful howl which I like to think is a loving call to our absent choir master.

Here’s to our perfect little poser, our cuddly teddybear, our singing lion… We miss you, we love you and we wish you and your family all the very best.

Woofs in the Wood also says farewell to Abbey. Little sister to Rocky and whirling dervish of dog who was raised as a Woof from day dot.

Abbey is the perfect little punk with attitude for days. Pure chaos and love on four short little legs.

Our hearts got all melty seeing the relationship grow between Rocky and Abbey. Rocky made the classic transition from hunk to helicopter parent. Seeing the flash of worry in Rocky’s eyes when Abbey would go out of view for a second and the relief when she would come zooming back in was almost as adorable or seeing them curled up together.

Abbey, you brought more gremlin joy and happiness to all our lives than we knew we needed and we miss you madly. We know you’re always living your best life, bye bye baby girl. Love The Woofs.

Woofs in the wood says a belated farewell to the one, the only Julia Rose.

After nearly four years, a squillion steps, falling off every log in a three mile radius and laughing through it all, our darling Julia has headed back to her native Boston.

If there was a mould that formed Julia, it broke when she sprung forth like one of those whacky waving inflatable tube people outside a used car lot.

Although Julia won us over with her stoopid humour and kind heart, she truly impressed us with her resilience in the face of more trauma than any young person should have to face.

When I apologised to Julia for being so tardy at writing this post she said: “Don’t worry, you just need to say I’m the best person you know.”

Well J, you are certainly the strongest, most awe-inspiring person to have come through all that you have.

We are so happy we got to be part of the Julia Rose timeline and although you didn’t get your visa wish to stay, it’s so you to be making the most of being home. Can’t wait to see you in the summer.

Woofs in the Wood says farewell to Rocky.

Our bad boy Boxer from Boston has headed home to the States with his little sister Abbey and his gorgeous human family.

Rocky has been a huge part of our lives since he moved in, up the road five years ago. The hunky heartthrob of NW8 set all hearts a fluttering: human and dog alike, especially the Doodles 🤷‍♀️ but none more so than his best girl, Millie. Rock & Mills have been inseparable these last few years and there is nothing quite like watching them play to bring joy to your day. A walk that topped a lot of our walker’s lists as a firm favourite.

Rock has been through the wars over the years and gave us a huge scare collapsing dramatically in the park on a walk but true to the Boxer brand he got back up to his feet and is still living his best life…just on the other side of the world.

Rock, we miss you terribly, our personal space has never felt so respected and lonely since you left but we are lucky that your humans send us updates and photos to keep you near and dear.

All the best buddy, love and super close cuddles.. Your Woof family.
