Hounslow Animal Welfare Society (HAWS)

Hounslow Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) We rescue and rehome hundreds of abandoned cats, kittens, rabbits and guinea pigs every year.

We don't have a rescue centre to visit, instead all the animals are looked after in the homes of our network of amazing foster carers.

Room in your heart for two absolute darlings?
✨ COULD YOU BE THE SPECIAL SOMEONE PEGGY SUE & LUCY ARE WAITING FOR? ✨
These two precious foster sisters have both had a rocky start to life, but they are completely ready to fill a lucky home with endless entertainment, purrs, and double the love!
🐱 Quick Facts
• The Duo: Best friends and foster sisters looking for a home together (or Peggy Sue can be adopted as an individual only-cat).
• Peggy Sue: Beautiful, slightly long-haired black coat with a white toe (which she’s very proud of); sweet, cuddly, and initially a little shy.
• Lucy: A little younger but the same size; an adorable, affectionate, cheeky "firecracker" full of mischief and love.
• Household Needs: Older children or adults only (no young families); a safe, secure garden is required.
• Health: Both are microchipped, neutered, and vaccinated. Peggy Sue is a carrier of the cat flu virus which sometimes may flare up (see below for further info).

💖 About Peggy Sue
My name is Peggy Sue! I had a bit of a rough start in life, but I am learning to relax and enjoy life every single day. I adore attention, love being stroked, and will reward you with adorable purrs during chin rubs! I love playing and wrestling with my foster sister Lucy. I have the sweetest, softest little meow, and I love nothing more than a good cuddle. Every morning, I get so excited to see you and start our day together!
💥 About Lucy
I'm Lucy, a little firecracker! The minute I hear you enter the room, I am up to greet you and ready to play. I am your ultimate little shadow and want to know absolutely everything going on in the house! Because I was separated from my mother very early, I am still learning how to be in "polite society" and tend to play-bite when I get excited. I mean absolutely no harm by it—it is just my kitten way of trying to play! I am an absolute darling who is super affectionate and will fill your heart with joy. I love cuddling up to you by finding a cosy spot inside your housecoat or hoody and falling asleep on you.

👯‍♀️ Why We Are the Perfect Pair
We are the absolute best of friends and love playing together! Lucy's high energy perfectly complements my sweet nature. Even better, since we already live together, adopting us as a duo is completely safe for my health needs! It allows me to have a lifelong playmate without exposing any new, unknown cats to my flu virus. We are ready to bring double the joy, love, and entertainment to your household!

🏡 Our Ideal Home
To help us both thrive, our forever home needs to meet these criteria:
• We must be adopted together, OR Peggy Sue must be adopted as an only cat. We cannot live in the same house with other cats due to Peggy Sue's virus.
• Household: Older children or adults only. Lucy's occasional play-biting and my need for a predictable environment mean young families are not suitable.
• Lucy needs a patient person who won't be deterred by her play-biting and will give her gentle direction as she grows.
• We both require a safe garden space to explore and burn off our kitten energy.

🩺 Health & Care
Peggy Sue is a carrier of the cat flu virus. Most of the time, she is a normal, vibrant girl! However, stress or big changes can cause temporary flare-ups.
• What to Expect: During a flare-up, Peggy Sue might get a runny nose, watery eyes, or a sneeze. When that happens all she needs is a little extra TLC, a calm routine, and occasionally a quick vet check.

If you are interested in opening your home to these girls, we would love to hear from you!
• Please contact Hounslow Animal Welfare Society to inquire about adoption.
• Alternatively, you can message their foster carer directly via Instagram at .
• Out of area? Don't let distance stop you! Out-of-area adoptions will be considered for the perfect match.

🔥FEEL THE HEAT 🔥

Kitten season is upon us and we are having to turn cats and kittens away because our foster homes are full to the brim! 🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈

Can you help? 🤗

Please email [email protected] to volunteer your home as a temporary sanctuary for felines in need. We have pregnant mamas, nursing mamas, mamas who have looked after their kittens and need a break (babies are weaned), orphan babies, and of course surrendered adult cats due to the ever rising cost of living. 💔

You don't have to do it forever, just to tide us over the busy season (between now and September). You get so much out of fostering, and you will literally be saving little feline lives. 🦸

🌞🐰 Hot weather can be dangerous for rabbits, so here are a few ways to help keep your buns cool during the heat:

💧 Always make sure they have plenty of fresh, cool water🧊 Put wrapped ice packs or frozen water bottles near them so they can lie beside them.
Keep them in the shade and out of direct sunlight🌬️ If it gets too hot, bring them inside with a fan or cooler airflow
Offer water-rich veggies like cucumber as a refreshing treat

Rabbits can overheat quickly, so keep an eye out for signs like panting, lethargy, or warm ears. Stay safe and keep those fluffy friends cool this summer! ☀️

Toffee and Storm are a bonded pair of around five years old, neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready to hop straight into your heart (and possibly your vegetable drawer). They’ve been in foster care with us for quite some time now, and while we adore them, what they really need is a place to call their forever home.

They’re friendly, enjoy a good stroke, and will happily hang out with you…

✨ Toffee & Storm in a nutshell:
• A lovely, gentle pair
• Big fans of food (did someone say snacks?)
• Enjoy attention on their own terms
• Experts in looking adorable at all times

Please contact us if you’re interested in adopting this gorgeous pair.
