In the past few months, Voldemort has become my best friend in this reptile journey. 🐉❤️

When I first got him, he went from being aggressive (that’s why I called him Voldemort) to be super calm and relaxed….But the truth is… he didn’t change. I did.

I learned to read his language. I learned when he feels scared, when he’s uncomfortable and what makes him feel safe and happy.

I also realised that most of his “aggression” happened outside his enclosure. He wasn’t aggressive… he was scared.

So instead of constantly taking him out and expecting him to adapt to me, I bought him a massive enclosure where he can spend most of his time in his safe space.

And that changed everything.

I stopped trying to force a bond and started letting it happen naturally. ❤️

Now he’s the first animal I go to when I get home and definitely the most spoiled 😂 Every evening before leaving the shop, I’m thinking about what food I can bring home for him.

Voldemort taught me something I’ll never forget:

Sometimes what we call “aggression” is simply an animal trying to tell us they’re scared.

We just have to learn how to listen. ❤️🐉

Everyone is asking AI to create an aquarium for them, but most of the time, AI doesn’t get it quite right. 🌿🐠

The perfect ecosystem needs time, patience and care. It needs to mature and become properly established before it can be the perfect home for happy, healthy fish.

This customer asked me to recreate this setup for him, so I took his reference pictures and brought the idea to life in this Fluval 57L.

Now it’s time to let nature do its thing. With CO₂, good lighting and a little patience, the plants will grow in and eventually turn this tank into a little underwater jungle. 🌱

Cherry barbs are officially our best-selling fish of the month at our Shoreditch store! ❤️

So many of you have fallen in love with their beautiful colours and gorgeous, flowing fins.

Cherry barbs are social fish, so we recommend keeping them in a group of at least 6 to help them feel happy, confident and healthy.

This fish thinks it’s a stingray 🛸

Meet the Hillstream Loach.

Flattened body, fins like wings, built to cling to rocks in fast flowing rivers.

In the wild they live in cold, oxygen rich mountain streams, gripping onto rock while the current tries to rip them off.

That sucker body isn’t for show. It’s a survival tool.

Peaceful, weird, and endlessly watchable as they graze algae across the glass.

They need cooler water, high flow and a mature tank with plenty of biofilm to graze on. Not a beginner fish, but a stunning one.
