It’s all terrible

No dog trend is worth stressing your dog out over. Not only is unpleasant and confusing for the dog - they literally have no understanding of what you are doing to them - but also the unnecessary cortisol that is being produced (and stays in their system for hours) wreaks havoc on their body.

Dog ghost trend, pet challenges, Halloween costumes for dogs etc are for human entertainment only. Dogs don’t know the concept of costumes. They don’t know what Halloween is. They don’t know what day of the week it is.

When you have a pet you are signing up to care for them, not to make them your play thing for social media.

Not only are costumes stressful for the dog, it also causes other dogs stress with their limited vision. It makes your dog vulnerable to attack, and also more likely to bite someone.

This poor greyhound would be much happier chewing something delicious on the sofa. If this was my dog that’s exactly what they would be doing.
