EMPOWERING OTHER PACK MEMBERS

If your dog listens to, and respects you, you can help your dog to respect others too:

🖤 Allow others to communicate with them first, rather than you giving every command (in this video Daphne is telling Ro to “move back” because she knows he isn’t supposed to walk in front of her of her bike / pram).

🖤 If your dog doesn’t listen to what they say, you can back up the other person by following through with them still next to you. Try not to take over completely but act like a team working together (in this case I back up Daphne’s ask verbally and by using her bike to enforce what she said).

🖤This works for other dogs or other animals too! For example, if you’ve seen your other dog or cat asking for space and not getting it, you can enforce that this happens so the dog in question learns they have to listen and respect the others in the pack.

🖤 This is how you make kids, elderly family members or those less able, have as much respect as you get, even though they don’t (because they cant) do as much of the work.

A clam, balanced, safe, controlled space for those wanting to build confidence around other dogs, people and in public places. Interactions with other dogs and the environment will be kept very neutral until / unless you and your dog are ready to take the next steps. The walks will all start on lead and anyone who needs space can make that clear to the rest of the group at the beginning. Depending on the group dynamic, we can move to off lead time for some or all dogs to help them learn social skills and build your confidence.

Anyone and everyone. Perfect for reactive dogs or those easily overly stimulated (even if thats overly friendly). Great for nervous dogs (and owners!) who need confidence building. Sociable dogs welcome too, to help others learn. All breeds welcome in this judgement free, supportive environment.

🖤 These are not one to one sessions and you will be in charge of managing your own dog.

🖤All walks will be lead by a behaviourist who can give tips, answer questions and will be ready to assist with any major problems.

🖤 £10 per dog. Discounts for multiple dog households.

And remember, this can be a very challenging time of year for your dogs - lots of chaotic energy, more people than usual in the house (and maybe people they don’t know / trust too much), lots of food and other recourses lying around etc. Up their exercise, ensure they get undisturbed rest and absolutely shut them away in a safe and familiar space if needed (once all their needs have been fulfilled) to reduce unnecessary stress and accidents. That’s the best christmas gift you could give to a dog find this time of year challenging ♥️🙏🏼🎄

P O L L Y

A nervous sausage with a dedicated first time dog owner commited to doing the right thing for her best friend. Her fear of doing the “wrong thing” sometimes paralised her from making decisions, leaving her dog with no decsion maker, causing behaviours to escalating (from grumbling to barking, lunging and snapping) and leaving the human’s mind in a scramble.

After four, two hour sessions, this is the result! And im not talking about the dog.. a more confident, knowledgable leader. Nothing else had to be done, and the dogs behaviour naturally changes.

Leadership is rarely loud and never about control. It’s about being fair, providing safety and protection and making decsions that work best in any given situation. No matter what angle your dog’s behaviour is coming from, proving clear leadership is always a big part of the answer.

Okay so how do you do that? Give me a call! 😉 (seriously, there is no one way fits all, you have to have an understanding of your dogs specific character and drivers of behaviours so you can do the right thing for them).
