Your cat doesn't care that you're going on holiday.

They care that you're leaving their house. 😂

Their sofa.

Their windowsill.

Their favourite sleeping spot.

Their food bowl.

Their routine.

And quite possibly, their absolute favourite human-shaped servant.

Which is why good cat care isn't just about popping in, putting food down and leaving again.

It's about keeping their world as normal as possible while you're away.

Same home.

Same smells.

Same routines.

Someone they can get to know.

Someone who notices if they're eating differently, hiding more than usual, or just generally behaving like something isn't quite right.

Because cats are very good at pretending everything is fine.

Until it isn't.

And that's why I absolutely love looking after them 💜

You go away. They stay home. Everyone's happier. 🐈‍⬛

My books are currently closed, with new client enquiries reopening on 21 September.

☀️🐾 IT’S A RUFF SUMMER FOR DOG PROS 🐾☀️
We all know how important it is to keep our dogs safe in hot weather — and sometimes that means cancelling walks, changing schedules, reducing outdoor activities or postponing appointments.
But behind that necessary decision is often a small business losing income.
Dog-care professionals still have bills to pay, even when the weather means they can’t safely provide the service. So if your dog walker, sitter, daycare, groomer or other pet professional has had to cancel or change plans because of the heat, here are a few small ways you can help:
❤️ Be understanding — keeping your dog safe comes first. A kind message goes a long way.
⭐ Leave a review or recommendation — it costs nothing and can make a huge difference to a small business.
📅 Rebook when you can — if you’ve had to cancel, booking again when the weather improves helps replace some of that lost income.
📣 Spread the word — like, share and recommend their business. When things are quieter, helping them reach new clients can be invaluable.
🫶 Be patient & kind — this heat won’t last forever, but your support right now can help dog pros (and their businesses) get through a tough period.
We LOVE your dogs. ❤️
We also need to look after the people who care for them.
So this summer, let’s show up for the people who show up for our dogs. 🐾☀️

Would You Adopt a Senior Cat?

This heartwarming single-panel comic poses a profound question: "WOULD YOU ADOPT A SENIOR CAT KNOWING THEY ONLY WANTED A QUIET PLACE TO SPEND THEIR GOLDEN YEARS?" It features a gentle senior cat in a shelter, looking hopefully at a kind man. Senior cats often get overlooked, but they offer a unique kind of love, wisdom, and calm companionship. They deserve a peaceful, loving home to live out their golden years. What are your thoughts on adopting senior pets? Share your experiences! ❤️🐾

Not my original post but worth a share…………

🐶USE US. DON’T LOSE US.🐶

One thing we’d love more pet owners to understand during a heatwave is this.

When we cancel because of extreme temperatures, we’re not having a day off.

We’re losing income.

Most professional pet carers are self-employed. We don’t receive holiday pay, sick pay or a guaranteed salary at the end of the month. If we don’t work, we don’t get paid.

Every cancelled walk, training session or visit has a financial impact.

And this isn’t just one hot afternoon.

Many of us are now dealing with repeated heatwaves and some of the hottest, longest periods of extreme heat we’ve experienced in our working lives. Week after week, bookings are cancelled, diaries are rearranged and income falls, while our mortgages, rent, insurance, vehicle costs and business bills remain exactly the same.

Despite that, we’ll continue to make the same decision every time.

Because our first responsibility is the welfare of the animals in our care.

A postponed walk can be rearranged.

Heatstroke doesn’t always give your dog a second chance.

So, if your usual service isn’t safe, please don’t assume we can’t help.

Instead of cancelling altogether, ask whether your booking can be adapted.

That might mean:
• A home welfare visit
• Toilet breaks
• Feeding and companionship
• Garden enrichment and play
• Medication administration
• An early morning or late evening walk where conditions are safe

You’ll still receive professional care.

Your pet stays safe.

And you’ll be helping a local small business survive another week of extreme weather.

Use us. Don’t lose us.

The service may look different for a few days, but our commitment to your pet never changes.

Thank you to every client who understands that responsible pet care sometimes means changing the plan, not abandoning it.
