Apollo is a little gentleman in the making! Currently enjoying his time in foster, Apollo is showing everyone just how lovely he is. He’s a chilled-out boy who’s more than happy to spend his days snoozing and pottering about, and with his impeccable house manners, he’s already got the home-life thing pretty well figured out!

He can be a little hesitant when meeting new people and dogs, but give him a moment to take it all in and he will soon start to come around. He just needs the chance to get comfortable in his own time.

Apollo is already showing what a lovely companion he can be. Now he just needs someone to see what we see in him and offer him a place to call his own.

This 2027 DCGR Calendars are now available and contain some stunning photographs of the greys, a huge thank you to Jeroen and Joanna for doing such a fantastic job producing the calendars 🐾

They are available to purchase at our Charity Shop in Lockerbie, Damhead Kennels in Tinwald, the Pop Up Shop in Kirkcudbright until the 22nd of this month and if any left, at the Fun Greyhound Show in Lockerbie Town Hall on Sunday 1st November.

There are only a limited number available.

If you are interested in purchasing and coming to the Show, you can reserve and pick up/purchase then.

They are competitively priced at £6 each for the Wall Calendar and £4 each for the nifty Desk Top version.

🖤 Tingle, far too busy having fun for a photoshoot!

Honestly, trying to get a still photo of this girl was a mission ! Our gorgeous black 4 year old girl is new to us, but she is already showing us how much she loves life !

Tingle can be a little unsure when she is somewhere new, so she might need a bit of time, but once she's comfortable? Out comes the playful, affectionate, silly side of her personality. She's a girl who loves people, and we're looking forward to seeing more of her character as she settles in.

She's fine around other dogs, but we don't know how she would be with cats as she hasn't been cat tested.

For now, we are looking for someone who won't mind letting Tingle take things at her own pace. No rushing her, just giving her the time and reassurance to settle in and show you who she really is.

She's a beautiful girl, inside and out, and we'd love to see her find a home where she can feel safe enough to be her wonderfully daft self every day. 🖤

❤️ Everyone meet Josh, a lovely 4 year old looking for his forever home. 🐾

Josh is an affectionate boy who loves people of all ages and is always happy to make a new friend. He is house-trained, loves a bit of fuss and has plenty of love to give to the right family.

He has also lived happily with another Greyhound and gets on really well with larger breed dogs, so a home with another suitable dog could be an option for him. He is not suitable for cats I am afraid.

On walks, Josh can be a little overexcited to begin with, he is just very keen to get going! He does settle when asked, but he will need someone who's confident and experienced with larger dogs to help him keep his feet on the ground (quite literally!).

Josh really is a lovely boy and just needs someone who understands him, can help him with his lead manners and will enjoy having such an affectionate companion around.

🖤 PIP HAS PLACES TO GO AND PEOPLE TO MEET!

At just 3 years old, Pip is a bright, enthusiastic greyhound who looks a little like Missy, but don’t let the matching black coats fool you!

Pip absolutely loves her walks and meeting people and other dogs. She’s a happy, sociable young girl who’s keen to get out and see what’s happening in the world. 🐾

Now we would love to see her find a home of her own, with plenty more walks and new adventures ahead.

Pip hasn’t been cat tested.

💗 OUR NEW GIRL MISSY

Missy is 4 years old and has recently arrived at DCGR

She’s playful, curious and very interested in whatever is happening around her. The world outside kennel life is all very new, so Missy is taking her time, having a good look around and figuring things out at her own pace.

We would love to see her find someone who understands that confidence takes time and who will enjoy watching this lovely girl blossom. 🥰

Missy is great on the lead, happy greeting other dogs but isn't cat tested.

🐾 A little more about Dara 🐾

Dara has only recently come into our care and is now looking for his forever home.

He really is a lovely, easy going, laid-back boy. He’s great with people and seems to be happiest just taking things as they come. He also loves getting out on his walks and having a good explore, plenty of time to stop, sniff and see what’s going on.

We are still getting to know him, so there’s more to discover about Dara, but what we have seen so far is a very nice boy with a wonderfully relaxed nature.
