Our gorgeous boy Lockey update ๐ค
Lockey was readmitted 12 days ago, just a few days after his surgery, after further tests, scans and investigations showed that things were unfortunately far more serious than we had first hoped.
A week ago on Saturday, we truly thought we were going to lose him when the worst diagnosis came back .. septic joint ๐ฅน After everything he had already been through, we had basically brought him home believing we were going to have to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go.
Because of where the problem is, itโs especially serious as it directly affects his ability to eat, which is why every little positive sign from him means so much right now.
But then a little miracle happenedโฆ he started eating again ๐ญ
Since then, he has slowly started showing us little signs that he still wants to fight. His treatment plan now is very full on โฆ heโs on Dr Green ๐ฑ.. three weeks of medication three times a day.. alongside intravenous stronger antibiotics and pain relief once a week for the next three weeks.
The positives are that heโs eating loads, pooping loads, looking brighter every day.. plus even getting fatter ๐ท๐ค
He still has a long way to go, and we are still very unsure what the final outcome will be, but we are giving him absolutely everything and hoping and praying he can make a full recovery โค๏ธโ๐ฉน๐๐ผ
We also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped with his care, treatment and day-to-day management .. from the vets, to everyone helping at home, and everyone who has checked in, supported us and kept him in their thoughts. It has honestly meant so much during such an emotional few weeks ๐ค
Weโd also love to see your favourite photos of Lockey and hear your lovely stories of him .. he has meant so much to so many of us over the years ๐ค๐ด
