Well done Daphne and Gracie for attending my Groom your own dog day course. It was a pleasure to work with you. Daphne had already been grooming her little dog for many years and had a huge amount of confidence when using her clippers and scissors. She wanted to learn how to groom her legs, ears and face correctly to get a nicer finish. It was great fun and lovely to meet them both. Good luck with your future grooming sessions and look forward to you sending me photos of your progress.

Hi Sonia thankyou so much for today's lesson on how to groom my little dog Gracie it was a great experience and i learnt a lot on controlling Gracie and myself when bathing and grooming her you were very friendly and put me at ease when I was nervous i hope to do an even better job next time i groom her i would recommend you to anyone who wants to learn to groom their dog and get great advice on their behaviour and your behaviour towards the dog thankyou again X 😊

Did you know that more research into whether flea and tick treatments are safe for our pets is being done?
For years, we have been asked to vaccinate our pets every year and to give them a flea treatment every month, even if they don’t need it. Please do your own research but I refuse to put harmful chemicals on my pets. They are convenient but harmful. More and more pets lives are being shortened by the regular vaccines and flea treatments. The government have, since May this year provided a new number we can call if we need to report adverse effects of pet medication. This is due to more evidence that these chemicals are harmful.

The truth about dogs with labels like aggressive, naughty, anxious and impossible to train is that they are none of these things. The truth is that there is a communication breakdown. We are both different species and a lot of the time, as much as we try, we don’t fully understand our dogs needs and read the situation incorrectly. This means that our dogs are not understood, their needs are not being met and this causes behaviours that are normal for the dog but a problem for us. If there’s a communication breakdown, our dogs are trying to let us know they are not happy about something, when we don’t understand and the situation doesn’t change, the dog may exhibit behaviours like confusion, attention seeking, frustration barking excessively and aggression. All these behaviours are a cry for help. If you are experiencing any of these issues with your dog, it’s because a problem has not been addressed. I’ve helped people bridge the gap of communication and solve the problem. Sometimes it’s more simple than you think.

Dogs are never too old or too damaged by trauma to change. Luna was dog aggressive when I first took her on almost 4 years ago now. I spent many hours with her, teaching her and gaining her trust. Now she lives with my other 7 dogs and is totally non confrontational, she has a huge amount of respect for the other dogs and cats she lives with and her true personality has come out. She is a baby and a very sweet and gentle member of the family.
