Contented Pets (Llangattock)

Contented Pets (Llangattock) We provide professional Dog Walking, Doggy Day Care & Holiday Visits, Cat Feeding and Small Animal care. Licensed with Powys County Council and fully insured.

Beulah and Richard are a husband and wife partnership based in Llangattock and have over 30 years experience in animal care and over nine years experience with dog and cat boarding care. Richard is focused on dog walks, cat visits, as well as dealing with more specialised small animal care. He has had dogs in his family for as long as he can remember, and has also had a variety of pets, from hamst

ers to rats to numerous tropical fish. Beulah shares the dog walks, as well as specialising in Cat feeds and small animal care. She also handles booking arrangements for Contented Pets. She has also looked after livestock, horses, rabbits and chickens over the years, and has completed courses in dog nutrition with one of the UK’s leading dry pet food companies. We also have a lovely welcoming third member of our team - Sam the Golden Retriever. He is super sociable, will welcome any new guest and make them feel right at home. He loves to play and make a fuss of the doggy guests!

Hot weather can become dangerous for dogs quickly, so knowing what to do could save their life.

Signs of heatstroke can include heavy panting, drooling, restlessness, bright red or very pale gums, and lack of coordination.

If you think your dog is overheating, remember: cool first, transport second.

Move them into shade or a cool, well-ventilated space. Offer small amounts of cool water, but don’t force them to drink. Pour cool water over their body and create a breeze with a fan if you can.

Avoid covering them with wet towels, as this can trap heat. Once their breathing starts to settle, take them to a vet practice immediately and call ahead on the way.

Act early. Heatstroke is an emergency.

Milo is a regular Home Boarder and Daycare dog. He is our Sam’s bestest Unky Milo. He met Sam when Sam was 8wks. Sam being around such a gentle passive dog has made Sam even more gentle and passive than his breed.
