🐾 PRELOVED FOR PAWS – CAN YOU HELP? 🐾

I am always thinking of new ways to raise much-needed funds for the dogs! ❤️

Whether it’s scratchcard raffles, eBay, Vinted or anything else I can come up with, I’m always looking for ways to bring in those extra pennies to help the dogs who so desperately need us.

So here’s my latest idea… PRELOVED FOR PAWS! 🐾

Do you have any good-quality clothes, shoes, handbags, accessories or other lovely items sitting in your wardrobes or cupboards that you no longer need?

If so, would you consider donating them to Paws Anglesey so I can sell them on eBay, Vinted and other platforms to raise funds for the dogs?

I’m currently in contact with Vinted to find out the best way to go about this. Ideally, I’d love a separate account called Preloved For Paws, rather than using my personal account. However, as Paws Anglesey doesn’t have registered charitable status, I’m not sure whether this will be possible.

But where there’s a will, there’s a way, and we WILL find one! ❤️

Every single pound raised will make a difference. What you no longer need could help feed a hungry dog, provide veterinary treatment or give a rescued dog a second chance at life.

We may only be a small independent fundraising page, but together we can make a BIG difference.

So please, before throwing anything away or taking it to a charity shop, think of our paws! 🐾

If you have anything you’d like to donate, please drop me a DM.

I would be so very grateful, and so would all the paws we’re fighting for. ❤️

Thank you, as always, for supporting Paws Anglesey.

Suzanne ❤️🐾

Update

So we contacted Scottish Power and unfortunately mains power isn't going to be viable, as there are no cables on my side of the A5025 (and digging under such a busy main road isn't going to be an option). A bit of a blow, but we are now looking into an off grid solar system to produce electricity. This may not be viable for the amount we ideally need (hot water dog wash and lighting) as we have no buildings/roof to use, so it would be ground panels only.
Without power, we can't get a bore hole for water as this would need an electric pump.

When we close for the new entrance (earliest likely date given by Anglesey council and highways is now mid November) we will be removing the gorse at the rear left of the woodland with heavy machinery (we didn't plant this, it encroached on our land from the A*5 embankment) and replacing the rabbit fencing with something smaller and stronger to try and keep the rabbits out.

Another update hopefully in around 2 weeks.

In the meantime, we are working on some new equipment as the cable reel jumps have proved really popular!

Update

At the end of October we are likely to be closing to appointments for a few days whilst our contractors open up the new double width customer entrance - to make arriving and leaving our site easier

We are open to ideas how we use the time to also carry out any major improvements

We have been debating the following for some time

1. Re barking the barked area - it was supposed to have wild flowers amongst the equipment but the seeds never grew and I’ve tried for 2 years I’ve only been successful growing weeds !

2 a new wire fence to try and stop rabbits getting in - although I doubt we will ever be completely successful

3 get a contractor in to get rid if the rabbits - I’m torn on this as it doesn’t sit comfortably but the damage they do digging is a problem

4 dig for water (obviously not me with a spade but a specialist Dragon Drilling). - which can be used for drinking / washing dogs / summer paddling pool The cost of this is astronomical but we aren’t ruling it out

5 fence off the woodland area with a dated entry so it it is optimal

6 mains electric connection in conjunction with water supply and install a hot water dog shower in the car park solely for customers to use

We have other ideas too but with the big expenditure costs above we are likely to need to go with the majority customer votes

Sharing as this may be of interest to our owners / followers who struggle to find the time to take their dogs as much as they would like

It isn’t a Zoomies initiative and they may decide to use other fields or a variety of fields which is good for the dogs

Can you click on the original Anglesey Paws post if you would like to comment to confirm your interest

🐾 WE’D LOVE YOUR THOUGHTS 🐾

A friend of the page has come up with what we think is a lovely idea and has asked me to put the feelers out amongst our members to see if this is a service local dog owners would be interested in. Please read about the service they would like to provide 🐾🐾🐾

🚌🐶 THE WAGGY BUS 🐶🚌

The idea is simple…

🐾 Your dog is collected from your home in a DEFRA-approved dog transport vehicle.

🌳 They’re taken to a fully enclosed, secure private dog park where they’ll have a full hour to run, play, exercise and socialise.

👫 There will be TWO experienced dog handlers with the dogs at all times, with a maximum of just 8 dogs on each Waggy Bus adventure.

🐕 Every dog will be individually assessed before joining The Waggy Bus to make sure they are happy, comfortable and suitable for a group environment. Dogs will be carefully matched so everyone can enjoy their adventure safely.

🏡 After all that fun, they’ll be safely dropped back home — hopefully happy, tired and ready for a good snooze! 🐶💤

We’re thinking around £20 per dog, which would include collection and drop-off within a 10-mile radius of Bangor. A small additional charge would apply for further afield.

Nothing is set in stone and we’re NOT taking bookings yet. We simply want to find out whether there would be enough interest locally to get The Waggy Bus on the road! 🚌🐾

So… WOULD YOU USE THE WAGGY BUS?

Please let us know in the comments, and tell us roughly where you’re based too. We’d really love to hear what you think. ❤️
