A QUICK KILLER
🚨 Could You Recognize the Signs of Bloat in Your Dog? 🚨
Bloat is one of the most serious emergencies a dog can experience. It can happen suddenly and progress very quickly, so knowing the signs could save your dog's life.
⚠️ Watch out for:
• A swollen or hard abdomen
• Repeated attempts to vomit with nothing coming up
• Excessive drooling
• Restlessness or pacing
• Panting or difficulty breathing
• Weakness or collapse
Large, deep-chested breeds are at a higher risk, but bloat can happen to any dog.
💡 Ways to help reduce the risk:
🐾 Feed two or more smaller meals a day instead of one large meal.
🐾 Avoid vigorous exercise immediately before and after meals.
🐾 If your dog gulps their food, consider using a slow feeder to encourage them to eat at a calmer pace.
🐾 After vigorous exercise, allow your dog to cool down before they drink large amounts of water. Offer small amounts at a time rather than letting them gulp excessive amounts all at once, then provide free access once they've settled.
🐾 Always make sure fresh, clean water is available throughout the day.
❗If you think your dog has bloat, don't wait to see if they improve—contact your emergency veterinarian immediately. Every minute counts.
As dog trainers, we focus on helping dogs live happy, healthy lives, and understanding life-threatening emergencies is just as important as teaching good behaviour.

Please note: While careful feeding, exercise, and water management may help reduce risk, they cannot completely prevent bloat. If you're ever concerned about your dog's health, seek veterinary advice immediately.
