Meet Pippin, a stunning Maine C**n, who came in for a cryptorchid castration! 🐾
Cryptorchidism is when one or both testicles fail to descend into the sc***um, remaining in the abdomen or groin!
⚠️ Why is castration important?
🔹 Retained testicles have an increased risk of developing tumours.
🔹 They can be prone to torsion (twisting), which is painful and potentially serious.
🔹 Cats with this condition should not be bred.
✂️ Surgical removal of the retained testicle(s) is recommended. The procedure can be more complex than routine castration, as the vet must locate and remove the retained testicle(s).
💙 Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment help protect your cat’s long-term health!
✨ Pippin was an absolute stunner and did really well with his procedure! What a gorgeous boy! 💙
