Here we have Czechoslovakian Vicak (Wolf dog) working on some loose lead walking training.

There's also a few other bits that we need to work on like a bit of recall around distraction, and a bit of nerve too.

This is a breed that I've worked with in the past, and I love working with lots of breeds on the daily.

Looking forward to going forward with this dog and owner.

So, today is the end of another client and their dogs 121 training journey. As we've come to the end, they gave me some lovely gifts and a personalised card too.

As always it's such a lovely gesture to receive something, but to watch the owner and dogs confidence grow is priceless.

There's no better job on the planet!

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it!

Here we have Labrador Jax working on some loose lead walking and free training.

His owners have been working on lots of basic obedience and engagement, which has improved lots.

Now we are going to start working on some human and dog reactivity that he's been displaying.

Here we have Doberman puppy Rollo working on some loose lead walking training.

We started on some luring to show him what position we wanted him to be in, and where reward will be given.

We then progressed on to walking with him and reinforcing when he was in the heel position.

Absolutely love working with these Doberman puppies.

***Dog Safety Warning***

Dogs and grass seeds!!!! 🌾

Over the last few weeks I've been talking to clients about the dangers of grass seeds and their dogs.

As we are in to grass seed season, it's important to be aware of grass seeds and to check your dogs during and after walks.

During walks with my own dog if he's sniffing or walking through grass, he ends up with seeds around his face, ears, eyes, and across other parts of his body.

As soon as I see them I put him in a sit position and pick them off of his body as soon as possible, as I don't want them working their way under his coat, or into eyes, ears, paws, etc.

The main hazardous grass seeds are like Meadow Grass (like Foxtails), Wild Barley, and Bromes.

These seeds resemble little spearheads and are incredibly hazardous because their rigid, arrow-like shape, backwards-facing barbs which allow them to easily pe*****te skin, eyes, ears, and paws.

Because of their construction it makes it impossible for them to work their way back out, Foxtail grass is particularly nasty. They are in fields, parks, gardens... Basically everywhere!

They can lodge into paws, hide in your dogs coat, and get into eyes, nose, and ears.

Signs to look out for, are things like...

Persistent head shaking.
Excessive ear scratching.
Unusual or persistent licking/chewing of paws.
Continuous sneezing.
Swellings or sores.
Sprouting seeds.

Keep a close eye on your dog during walks and check your dog after being outdoors.

Here we have Shih Tzu Miley working on some environmental training down at a local retail park.

Before this wed been at the local park working around dogs, and practicing some recall training too.

Miley has come on leaps and bounds since I first met her. She's more confident, engages with her owner well, and lots of people have noticed the changes.

The first time I met Miley she barked at me the whole time, where now she's my wee best mate!

Great work and well done team Miley!
