Axal’s Hydrotherapy Introduction πŸΎπŸ’¦

Although Axal is only 17 weeks old and doesn’t currently have any issues that need addressing, I always like to introduce my dogs to hydrotherapy early on.

If they ever develop joint or mobility issues later in life, they’re already familiar with the environment, equipment, and process, making it much less stressful for them.

It certainly doesn’t do any harm while they’re growing either. Swimming is a fantastic form of low-impact exercise and has so many benefits, including building confidence, body awareness, fitness, and muscle strength without putting excessive strain on developing joints.

As you can see, Axal wasn’t phased in the slightest. He took it all in his stride and turned out to be a very confident little swimmer. Of course, he also had Radar there to supervise and make sure everything was being done properly πŸ˜†

A huge thank you to Leeann, who made the whole experience fun and positive for him.

The only part Axal wasn’t too sure about was the blaster at the end for drying him off… so I guess we know what we’ll be adding to his confidence-building homework over the next few weeks! πŸ˜‚πŸΎπŸ’¨

Bleu Bear now has 2 supervisors at hydrotherapy.

Wee Axal was just watching so he could learn from Bleu before he went into the hydrotherapy pool.

He had lots of fun playing with the squeaky balls.

As always Radar has to push Bleu out the way so he can get blasted too.

Axal was t too sure about the blaster though lol

Socialisation isn't just for puppies - adult dogs benefit hugely from regular, positive interactions with other dogs and new environments. 🐢πŸ₯°
Dugs Paws group walks are structured with this in mind. Confident, curious, connected dogs - that's the goal. πŸ•πŸ•πŸ•

Ferris and Ghillie were not amused getting caught in a torrential downpour on Friday however they demonstrated some amazing heel work in a busy environment during our training session.

Every trail has a story and every dog writes a new chapter with their nose. πŸŒ²πŸ• Dug's Paws we take your canine to places that genuinely light them up - wide open spaces, interesting terrain, and all the smells.

Axal 🐾

Axal had a day out at the stock car racing with his dad today.

This gave him even more exposure to different sounds, smells, people, and a busy environment. The noise from the racing can be quite intense, making it a great opportunity for confidence building and socialisation.

As always, Axal just took it all in his stride. He watched the world go by, took in everything around him, and remained relaxed throughout and slept through the majority.

Experiences like this are invaluable for young puppies. The more positive exposure they have to different environments, sights, sounds, and smells, the more confident and well-rounded they become.

He really is such a confident wee puppy and takes everything in his stride πŸ‘πŸΎ
