How has everyone’s dogs been coping with the heat? ☀️🐶

There’s always lots of posts when the weather warms up, and honestly being cautious is never a bad thing! My own have only been going out once it cools down a bit, even if that only means a quick 20 minute walk. Even the “cooler” temperatures can still feel quite warm for them, and guess what… also missing a walk is just as beneficial for them! Dogs can overheat very quickly. It’s important to know what is safe for your own dog

We’ve also been focusing on keeping cool at home, and Ara is absolutely loving this little pool from Aldi! 💦 think I may need to go buy another 🤣

Week 2 with Multifunctional Training Lead still reaching for this over a standard lead as the options for size adjustments with ease is so much better than carrying a spare long line! Our first biothane training lead and I’m loving my it🥰 Im testing this for TDTS new project 💪🏼

No one prepares you for watching your first puppy grow old 🥺

It doesn’t feel that long ago that I was crate training and toilet training Luna, celebrating all those first milestones losing those needle sharp puppy teeth, her first time off lead, and even the embarrassing moment she chased a jogger as a tiny puppy while I shouted for them to stop…unfortunately they had headphones on and didn’t hear a thing 🙈

This year Luna turns 10 and is officially stepping into her senior years. Her face may be greyer and she may have slowed down a little, but one thing that hasn’t changed is her love for learning and keeping her brain active.

Luna absolutely loves scentwork and trick training, and it’s such an important reminder that mental enrichment doesn’t stop as dogs get older. In fact, keeping their minds engaged can help support cognitive health and prevent decline as they age.

It’s easy to assume older dogs can’t do the things they once did, but training and enrichment are just as beneficial in their twilight years sometimes even more so 🫶🏼

I’m reviewing this lead for the The Dog Trainer School’s new project with Golden Unleashed multi functional training lead and I LOVE the length on this lead so handy for giving a dog a bit more freedom without trailing a long line around! Not to mention it’s super light weight too! I will be dropping some videos of this in action over the next week!
