TGCA Breed Association TOYS 2026 - Turn Back Time had an incredible first TOYS competition:
🏆1st Best of breed stallion in hand.
🏆Best of breed senior stallion in hand champion.
🏆1st Large Best of breed ridden stallion.
🏆Reserve in hand Quest champion.
🏆Ridden Quest champion🏆

Turn Back Time was born in Ireland, travelled to Tennessee then on to Florida and then back to the UK, all before the age of 5!! That's probably a record for a traditional gypsy cob, I don't think I know of any other to have crossed the pond twice!?!

When TBT arrived to us, he wasn't in the best shape, whether that was due to collecting semen in the US, the long journey home or other factors, I don't know? He had rubbed out his mane, had lost all his condition and generally looked dull. I had been so excited to meet him but couldn't help feeling disappointed when we first met, he looked nothing like his sale pictures but we knew he had so much potential.

So, we set the task for our producer Karl Schuller of building him back up with great nutrition, gentle but sufficient exercise and time. We are only 12 months down the road of this journey and the changes have been immense, yet he has soooo much more to give. TBT is just going to get better!! This year has been an incredible start to his career but I’ve no doubt next year will be even better. We’re very proud of his achievements to date. We have three of his foals due next year and he absolutely blew us away at TGCA TOYS 2026. We all have so much love for this young stallion, he just tries his heart out. 💙

🌟🌟TOYS 2026 Mare & Foal of the Yesr🌟🌟

🌟🌟TOYS Supreme Best of Breed Foal🌟🌟

May favourite time of the equine year is foaling time. It is without shadow of a doubt the most exhausting few months of the year with no sleep at all - fueled by caffeine and passion for the breed and definitely not for the faint hearted. You cannot begin to understand the exhaustion, I thought having newborn children was hard until I started doing this!!! Out of the 13 foals this year we missed one by minutes, who took us completely by surprise but I am very proud to say I was there with each and everyone of the other 12 through every step of their birthing to support and cuddle them, ensuring everything went safely and smoothly to plan.

This year saw the very first Jesse James foals hit the ground and here is Tommy, the first ever Jesse James son. He's so beautiful that we decided we just had to showcase him. It was a first for us to take a mare and foal to TOYS but a very proud and somewhat stressful moment! These foals are like my babies!! However, there was nothing to worry about and both mare and foal took the whole thing in their stride and made me extremely proud!!

TOYS TGCA Breed Association 2026

Day 2 was all about Pearl…. Her first ever show and she did us proud. It was a very last minute decision to take Samson with us and we had no time to prepare but he was super good. Her pony ‘Songbird Samson’ was a superstar and put up with a lot considering the late decision.

Great start to TOYS last night at THE TGCA COB STAR AWARDS.

We’ve worked so hard over the last few years and this last year in particular with a big push on the showing side and last night we reaped the rewards and were awarded……….

Huge big congratulations to all the nominees and the winners of the other categories, it was a great night and turnout. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us and of course Karl Schuller who has worked tirelessly to get TBT up to the standard he's at- but watch this space because there's still so much more to come from TBT yet. And last but by no means least, the team of girls who work at Abrams who are the back bone of everything we do - you all know who you are!!

Getting lots of messages today about the competition ahead 💕

We’re really excited to be attending TGCA Breed Association TOYS 2026, with the biggest team of horses we have ever taken, with six horses and a mare and foal we’re going to have our work cut out.

However, we’re really looking forward to seeing everyone and competing with you all. Well done to everyone that qualified, it's time to enjoy what you've spent all year working towards!!! We’re looking forward to the catch up and the laughs. Good luck everyone!! 🤩

🖤Abrams Where I Go Hugo🖤

Another incredible day for Abrams Farm. The eldest of our three General sons went out for his first spin with Karl Schuller today. Unfortunately Lancaster who normally runs Hugo out was busy sheep shearing (due to a mix up with dates), but with Karl taking over with Hugo after TOYS as he prepares for his ridden career it seemed like a good opportunity for both Hugo and Karl to meet. Hugo did not disappoint despite the different handler and defended his title at Great Eccleston Show 2026.

After talking with a friend who's not in the UK who is currently at rock bottom due to their horse community, I have to say how proud I am of our TGCA community. I have never experienced hatred or anything other than good will and kindness during our journey. So many people have guided us through without expecting anything in return and the amount of people that congratulate each other as they leave the ring - win or lose is what makes this such a pleasure to be a part of!!!
Obviously there are times that we all may be disappointed with the outcome of a show, but judges decision is final and their opinion on that day. Losing is part of life and just makes you stronger and more determined to improve. On that note I'd like to congratulate everyone that competed today at Great Yorkshire show the competition was really tough but that's what makes us all grow!!! Well done everyone and be kind 👏🏻👏🏻Xx
