I’m absolutely over the moon to share that I’ve been shortlisted as a finalist at the UK Women’s Business Awards 2026!

When I started Bubba’s Dog Training back in 2023, I never imagined I’d be writing something like this.

I started this business from a tiny flat with damp, rats and very little money, after some incredibly difficult years. I had no idea whether I could actually make it work, but I knew I wanted to build something that made a genuine difference to dogs and their people.

Nearly four years later, I’ve worked with hundreds of dogs and their families, built a business around something I absolutely love and somehow ended up being recognised on a national level.

It certainly hasn’t been plain sailing. Running a business whilst navigating chronic illness, personal challenges and all the uncertainty that comes with being self-employed has pushed me more than I can explain.

But I’m so bloody proud of how far I’ve come, and I know my boy Bubba is looking down on me proud too 🥹🫶🏻

To be shortlisted from tens of thousands of women and businesses across the UK is something I’m still trying to get my head around!

And the fact that this recognition comes from doing something I genuinely believe in, helping dogs and their humans through kind, ethical and evidence-based training, makes it even more special.

A massive thank you to everyone who’s booked a session, recommended me, shared a post or supported Bubba’s in any way. You’ve all played a part in getting me here.

Next stop, the final round and hopefully a place in the National Top 10! 🤞🏼

I’ll be joining Tug-E-Nuff at Edition Dog Live 2026 as one of the trainers delivering live demonstrations and workshops in their Play Zone!

I’m a big believer that training doesn’t have to look like traditional obedience exercises. Play is such an underrated part of dog training, and when used purposefully, it can be brilliant for building confidence, motivation and stronger relationships between dogs and their owners.

So, getting the opportunity to share that with dog owners at one of the UK’s biggest dog events is very exciting!

I’ll be alongside some other fantastic trainers from the Tug-E-Nuff Partner Network, sharing practical, reward-based training advice and showing just how much we can achieve through play.

It’s also a lovely opportunity to get out to meet more people in the industry and hopefully help a few dogs and their humans along the way.

A good walk doesn’t need to be 5 miles, perfectly structured and leave you both needing a lie down afterwards 🥵

Sometimes it’s 20 minutes of sniffing the same lamppost for an offensively long time, wandering about with no real agenda and giving your dog a bit more space when they need it.

If walks currently feel more like a tactical operation than something either of you actually enjoy, it’s probably worth looking at why.

Pulling, barking, lunging, freezing, refusing to move or generally acting like they’ve never seen the outside world before all have a reason behind them.

That’s the bit we work on.
