🐾 Keyhole spays are available at Medivet Orrell Park! 🐾
We’re excited to now be offering laparoscopic (keyhole) spays for dogs weighing 8kg and over, giving our clients another option when choosing the right procedure for their pet. 💚
🔎 So, what is a laparoscopic spay?
Rather than the larger incision made during a traditional spay, laparoscopic surgery uses a camera and specialist instruments introduced through small incisions in the abdomen.
This minimally invasive approach offers:
🐶 Smaller surgical wounds
🐶 Reduced tissue handling during surgery
🐶 Less post-operative discomfort
🐶 A quicker return to normal activity
💷 Prices start from £689.60, with the final cost depending on your dog’s size.
This includes:
✅ Laparoscopic spay procedure
✅ Post-operative pain relief
✅ Intra-operative intravenous fluid therapy
✅ Buster collar
Medical pet shirts are also available at an additional cost.
📸 Here’s our Lead Vet Andre, and Head RVN Hannah, putting our laparoscopic equipment to work during one of our recent procedures!
As with all of our surgical patients, there’s a whole team involved behind the scenes — from admission and preparation, through anaesthesia and monitoring, to recovery and getting them safely back home. 💚
Our laparoscopic spay service is available for dogs weighing 8kg and above.
📞 If you’d like to find out more give the practice a call or speak to a member of the team at your next visit. 🐾
