Some working dogs can learn the names of hundreds of individual objects and remember the difference between them. 🧠🐕

It’s a great example of just how intelligent and adaptable dogs can be, especially when they're given the right training and plenty of mental stimulation.

From retrieving and scent work to learning commands and identifying objects, working dogs are capable of far more than we sometimes realise.

How many objects do you think your dog could learn? 👀

Friendly, intelligent and always ready for an adventure it’s no surprise the Golden Retriever is one of the UK’s favourite dog breeds. 🐕

Originally bred as working gundogs, Goldens are known for their retrieving ability, trainability and enthusiasm for getting involved.

They’re often happiest when they have a job to do, whether that’s working in the field, training, retrieving or simply keeping their owners busy!

And, of course, those famous golden coats are pretty hard to resist. 💛

Golden Retrievers: loyal companions with a serious working-dog heritage.

Your dog’s workload has changed. Has their feeding? 🐾

The shooting season is underway, and after a quieter summer, many gundogs are now spending more time working in the field.

More activity doesn’t automatically mean more food, but it is a good time to check their workload, body condition and current feeding routine.

Our latest blog looks at what to consider as your dog’s activity changes, including choosing a food that suits their age and workload.
