Everyone get ready to party.
Parking is in Richards field,take the next left after our driveway. Park up the very top and then walk down our drive to the campsite.
Any one wishing to purchase bbq or drinks the hotel will be open from 12 noon.
Live music from 4pm, welcome to stay though children must be accompanied at the hotel area for the live music.
Parking from 4pm please drive up the drive and park around the campsite green or stable carpark.

🎉 Calling All Parents and Kiddos! of Great Trethew Trekking, Family and Friends 🎉

Get ready for a fantastic party this Saturday, September 12th

From 12 PM to 4 PM at our campsite! We’ve got an afternoon full of FUN, FRIENDSHIP, and FESTIVITIES for everyone! 🌟 Followed by a late afternoon/evening of dancing.

🚗 Parking Info:
Parking 12 noon to 4pm in Richard Gillbards Field (Thank you Richard), located at the Great Trethew Vintage Rally entrance. Just follow the signs from our drive - next on left! Then, enjoy a short stroll down to the campsite green, where all the activities will take place.

🍔Refreshments
Delicious drinks and BBQ will be available for purchase from the hotel bar, so come hungry!

🐴 Please Note:
Our lovely ponies are enjoying their weekend off in the fields, so let's keep the stables off-limits.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Safety First!
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times (unless you trust them to behave, ha!). It’s a party, and we’ll be joining in the fun - we won’t be responsible for any little ones running wild! 😉

🎶 **Evening Entertainment:**
Join us for live music in the hotel garden starting From
- 3:45 PM: Kick off with The Press Gang – get ready for foot-stomping shanties and melodic songs of the sea!

- Followed by the amazing Black Friday trio to get you dancing!
- And to wrap up the evening, enjoy The Hipslingers – bringing you country rock with grit and groove!

🚘 Evening Parking: From 4pm
For the evening event, please park in the hotel car park/stable carpark or on the campsite green.

BANDS/ENTERTAINMENT - If you have accommodation or are part of a band, just drive straight up to the hotel on arrival!

🌟 Celebrating Holly: A True Star of Great Trethew Trekking!🌟

Today, we're shining a spotlight on someone very special to us—Holly! 🎉 For the past 12 years, Holly has been an integral part of our family, starting her journey with us in 2014 with a pony birthday party that ignited her passion for horses and ponies. 🐴❤️

From joining our weekly pony club to volunteering at just 12 years old, Holly's dedication has always shone through. When COVID hit in 2020, she was right back on-site, caring for our beloved ponies and horses without hesitation. Her work ethic truly inspires us all!

At 16, Holly officially joined our team, and we’ve never looked back. Her positivity and spirit have made her a fantastic colleague and friend. Now, as she embarks on an exciting path toward a career in the Army, we couldn't be prouder! 🎖️💪

With dreams of becoming an Officer, she’s been diligently preparing with her studies and fitness training, showcasing the same resilience she brought to us every day. 💫

While we’re so excited for Holly's future, we will miss our star maintenance field fixer, buggy driver, and all-around incredible member of our team.

Holly, it's time to conquer your dreams! We can’t wait to hear about all your adventures. Remember, you’ll always have a home here! 🏡✨

🌟 What a Fantastic Summer at Great Trethew Trekking! 🌟

As we close our doors for a much-needed break until September 5th, we want to reflect on an incredible summer filled with new faces, reunions with familiar friends, and moments that truly touched our hearts.

From welcoming current riders to meeting new families, each day was packed full of pony-mad fun and laughter! 🐴❤️

We've had our share of highs and lows; while we celebrated joyous moments, we also mourned the sudden loss of our beautiful Heidi earlier this month. Her spirit will always be with us, and we appreciate the love and support from our community during this time.

A special shoutout to our partnership with Time2Move! 🎉 We were thrilled to host up to 90 children each week, offering a safe space for those receiving Free School Meals to learn how to care for their ponies, enjoy riding through the woodlands, and finish each session with a hearty meal. We were also proud to offer 16 one-on-one spaces for SEN children each week, ensuring everyone had the chance to experience the joy of riding.

In mid-August, we held our very first 6-day loan event! Each day was bursting with excitement, culminating in a show day and an unforgettable fun ride. The smiles and laughter were infectious!

Now, while most of the summer was a dream, it’s important to acknowledge that we’ve received a few constructive comments. Every riding school has its unique approach, and while we strive to give our all (and then some!), we know we can't please everyone. We deeply value feedback and are continuously working hard to rise above challenges and showcase the extraordinary experiences we offer.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing staff and volunteers! 🌈 Your dedication and passion for our riding school truly make it a special place, and we couldn’t have achieved all this without you.

And of course, let’s not forget our wonderful ponies and horses—they are the true stars of the yard! 🌟🐴

We're excited to rejuvenate and come back on September 5th, ready to make more magical memories with all of you!

We have 3 new faces to welcome to the yard. We would like to introduce them all to you.
Our first is Danny a lovely kind tempered skewbald cob, standing at 14.2hh age 11.

Our second is the rather pretty Laylah aged 8 standing at 14.2hh and breed Haflinger.

Then Our third newest addition is Falcon, a 13.1hh 7 Yr old cob cross.

When you are with us next, make sure you go give them all a cuddle.

Important Notice – Communication & Safeguarding

To ensure clear and appropriate safeguarding boundaries, we are making a small change to how we communicate with our younger riders.

With immediate effect, we ask that all bookings, cancellations, riding-school queries, complaints and disputes involving anyone under 18 are communicated to us by a parent or guardian.

We will not discuss disagreements between young people through private messages with children. If an issue needs our attention, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us directly.

Of course, if a child is worried, feels unsafe or needs help while at the riding school, they should always speak to a member of staff. Safeguarding concerns will always be listened to and dealt with appropriately.

We would also ask parents to encourage their children not to involve the riding school or our staff in social-media disagreements between young people.

This policy applies equally to everyone and is simply intended to maintain appropriate boundaries and protect our young riders, their families and our staff.

Finally getting around to posting photos from our first ever 6 day loan.

IT WAS AMAZING

We have all had the best time, learnt so much, created so many friendships, looked after each pony to perfection.

We had a lovely show day with so many rosettes won and finished the week with the best fun ride day ever, concluding our week with a presentation and bbq.

I have so so many photos and videos, there is a WhatsApp group which we can add you to if you would like to see them all.
